We are already a long way into the Women's Big Bash League, but the points table look far from settled. A loss for Melbourne Renegades has pushed them to the bottom half of the table and they'll be looking to gather momentum by winning their next few games. Their next game is against Sydney Sixers Women, who are arguably the best side in the tournament on-paper, but haven't really performed to their potential. With both teams not performing to their potential, this match could be the one that kick-starts the campaign for one of the sides. Only time will tell which side it is going to be.
Renegades started off pretty well in the competition, but a couple of close losses has pushed them in a spot of bother. Although they are at the fifth spot, the fact that they have played an extra match is concerning. They also happen to have a pretty poor net run-rate of -0.342 and will be looking to improve on that.
They were thumped by Perth Scorchers in their most recent encounter. Batting first on a beauty of a track, Danille Wyatt led the way for the Renegades as she smashed 74 off just 51 deliveries to take the Renegades to a total of 134 in 15 overs.
While their batting did pretty well, poor bowling cost them the match. The second innings was cut short due to inclement weather conditions and consequently, the Scorchers were left to chase 77 runs in 7 overs. Their bowlers did well to contain Scorchers till the sixth over, but a poor last over from Molly Strano, in which she gave away 17 runs cost Renegades the match.

After winning their first match superbly, Sydney Sixers went down against Brisbane Heat, a loss which was rather unanticipated. Their loss to Heat damaged their net run-rate to such an extent that they have a pretty poor net run-rate of -0.392 despite winning two matches.
They bounced back to the scheme of things win a much-needed win over Melbourne Stars and rose to the sixth spot at the ladder. Another win for them would put them in a sweet spot, as far as the points table is concerned.
In their last match, Sydeny Sixers were brilliant as they ramapaged past Melbourne Stars in a low scoring match. Bowling first, Sydney Sixers kept chipping away with the wickets at regular intervals. Eventually, the Stars were reduced to just 107 for 9 in their alloted 20 overs. The Sixers chased down the total without any fuss as Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner contributed with 39 and 32 runs respectively.
Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp, Maddy Darke, Lauren Smith, Sarah Aley, Hayley Silver-Holmes, Stella Campbell.
It's an important fixture for both the sides as both Renegades and Sixers would love to get into the top-half of the points table. While both the sides have two wins to their name and are in a similar position at the points table, the Sydney Sixers have played just three matches. Comparing the two teams on paper and on the basis of form, Sydney Sixers are a better team. Despite having low returns of just 1.45 on their win, Sydney Sixers are the team to bet on in the upcoming game.
