Just like Puducherry, Manipur aren't really known for their cricketing exploits. A few wins in the tournament can go a long way in establishing cricket in the state and this team would be eyeing just that. They have started off on a losing note and will be desperate to get back to the winning ways.

 

On the points table at the moment, they are placed at the very bottom, with zero points to their name. They also have a pretty poor net run-rate of -2.420, which they would need to improve at as well.

 

They started off their campaign with a loss at the hands of Delhi and then followed that up with another loss, at the hands of Goa. They have been poor with the bat so far and will need to step up in that department.

 

On paper, there are some gaps in their lineup, especially in the batting department. We might see some changes happening to buff up the batting in this upcoming match. If they can do that, they certainly have the team to send scares to the Puducherry camp.

Puducherry

Puducherry aren't really known to be a powerhouse in India's domestic cricket and hence it is turning out to be in the ongoing tournament as well. They have started off with a couple of losses to their name and will want to get back to the winning ways.

 

As it currently stands on the points table, they are placed seventh with only Manipur behind them. They are still pretty much in the business as a win here will take them to the third spot, disregarding the net run-rate. Puducherry will also need to keep an eye on their net run-rate as well, which currently stands at -1.150.

 

Puducerhrry are coming off a close loss at the hands of Hyderabad in a match that they were in for most part. Chasing a total of 147, Puducherry managed to put 143 runs on the board, losing the match by four runs. We have seen that they have lacked potency and application in their batting. They would need to pick up in that department.

 

On paper, they have a decent side with plenty of talent available, but do not have experience to take them out of crunch situations. It proved to be a critical factor against Hyderabad but will need to find a way to tackle similar situations. If they can bat better and handle pressure-cooker situations more diligently, they can be a tough side to deal with.
