This year brought about plenty of reasons for cricket fans in Pakistan. Not only did international cricket return to Pakistan, but also did Pakistan Super League. After a long wait, normalcy in cricket returned to Pakistan with PSL, which has already been a treat to watch for the fans with some nail-biting contests. The Sultans from Multan are leading the points table with a spectacular net run-rate and four points to their name. They have two teams right behind them and will be looking to march ahead of the competition with a win in their upcoming contest. Up next in the tournament, they are set to play Karachi Kings, who are looking to get out of mid-table rut. Most of the contests in the tournament have been closely-fought and this promises to be a close encounter as well.
Multan Sultan are coming off a brilliant win in their previous match, a win that sent the crowd roaring for them. The win pushed them to the top of the ladder and showcased their prowess as well. They have a net run-rate of 0.914, which is better than any team in the competition.
The tournament is jam-packed with teams playing matches on consecutive days. While it is not the same for the Sultans, but considering that they have been playing with and w fatigue could be an issue, they will be pumped to repeat their scintillating performance against the Kings as well.
It was their superb bowling performance that won Sultans their previous match. Bowling first on a surface that was as easy to bat on as any, the Sultan bowlers looked on fire. Apart from dropping Tom Banton on the first delivery, there was nothing that Sultans did wrong. Sohail Tanvir was brilliant for them and broke Peshwar Zalmi's backbone by picking up four important wickets. The restricted Zalmi to just 123, a total that shouldn't have been difficult to chase down, but it did.
At one moment the Sultans were reduced to 47 for 4 and were staring at an embarrasing defeat. It was Rilee Rossouw's experience coupled with Khushdil Shah's exuberance that helped send the Multans fans home with happy faces. As per the latest update, Quetta Gladiators are at the top of the table and Multan Sultans would want to topple them from there. They will be desperate to regain the top spot and expected to come hard at the Kings in the upcoming encounter.
Shan Masood, RS Bopara, Moeen Ali, Rilee Rossouw, Zeeshan Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, SMSK Afridi, Mohammad Ilyas, Mohammad Irfan, S Tanvir, Imran Tahir.
Although the Kings are placed in the middle of the points table, they aren't too far from the top and haven't done badly at all. They have played one game less than the Sultans and another win here should be enough to bring them at par with the Sultans and two other sides, as far as points on the board are concerned.
Karachi Kings have arguably the most stylish player of Pakistan cricket. He is none other than Babar Azam and did a terrific job in the previous match to guide Karachi Kings to a total of 201. He scored a fantastic 78 and was helped by a scintillating fifty by Imad Wasim. On paper, the Kings have a fantastic side and getting past them will be a challenge for the Sultans.
Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, C Delport, SI Wasim, CAK Walton, Iftikhar Ahmed, AD Hales, Umaid Asif, Mohammad Amir, Chris Jordan, Umer Khan.

Multan Sultans may be ahead in the points table, but the two sides are evenly matches, at least on paper. The odds offered on both the sdies suggest the same as well. Another similarity between the two sides is that they both are coming off superb wins in their respective matches. Multan Sultans appear to be a little too over-reliant on Rilee Rossouw and the same was evident in their previous match as well where they were reduced to 47 for 4 before being bailed out by Babar Azam. On the contrary, the Kings appear to have a better-balanced side, albeit a bit. With Babar Azam and Imad Wasim in fine form and an overall better side on paper, the Kings are better placed to emerge on top.
