The very popular Karnataka Premier League is back for its sixth season, and the fans will gather at Mysore to see two strong teams Mysuru Warriors and Bijapur Bulls take on each other for the 3rd match of the league on 4th September. Current champions Bijapur Bulls had defeated Hubli Tigers last year to lift the trophy; they have a well-balanced team of batsmen and bowlers, who can help the team start the series on a winning note. Mysuru Warriors had won the series 2 years back and they started this season with a big win against Bengaluru Masters by 38 runs to garner 2 points; they are at No. 1 position right now and it needs to be seen if they can overcome the Bulls on Monday.
Arjun Hoysala’s quick fire 31 off just 18 deliveries against Bengaluru Masters got the team its first win of the season and brought him the player of the match award. With the match reduced to 8-overs due to rain, the Warriors put up 84 runs losing 5 wickets, and then the bowlers led by Akshay’s stupendous 3-6 defended the total easily to win the match. Medium-pacers Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Bhareth also took 3 wickets between them to stifle the opposition.
The batting unit has players like Karun Nair, Arjun Hoysala, NP Bhareth, Vinit Yadav and Manjunath, who provide the left-right combination which can help them outwit the opposition.
