About the Match
Mysuru Warriors won their opening game of the series by defeating Mangaluru United by 7 wickets; they will now take on Rock Stars in the 4th Match at Hubballi on 18th September. Gaining 2 points, the Mysuru team will be high on spirit and determination to keep their winning momentum going; on the other hand Rock Stars, which has a huge fan following owing to the star quotient this team has, will be looking forward to massive support from the stands and they too will try to put their best foot forward. It needs to be seen which of the teams can overcome the pressure under crunch situation and come out with flying colours on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 149 runs against Mangaluru, Raju Bhatkal top-scored with a well-made 48 off 29 and along with other batsmen like Gowtham, who scored 36, Arjun Hoysala who contributed with 22 runs, the Warriors were able to cross the finish line with ease. Middle-order batsmen like Jonathan and Prateeksh, who helped keep the scoreboard ticking and reach the target with 17 balls to spare, add depth to the batting line-up and can try to steady the innings here.
The bowling unit did well with medium pacers Sagar and V Vijay Kumar taking 2 wickets each to stifle the opponents; Bhatkal was the most economical as he took a wicket and gave only 4 runs in 2 overs. Spinners Suchith and Gowtham also helped restrict the Mangaluru batsmen and bring variety to the attack.
They put up an all-round performance and have got off to a good start with a win in the last match; with the talented group of players, they surely seem to be the team to look out for on Sunday.
The batting line-up consists of Sudeep, Neravenda Aiyappa, Rithesh Bhatkal, Raahul, Nitin Bhille, Rajkumar, Sharath, Charan Teja and Daivik Vishwanath, who can focus on building a strong foundation whether batting first or during chase. Along with players like SL Akshay, Madan Mohan, V Mahesh and Pradeep Bogadi, the Rocks Stars can surely look forward to posting a competitive total on board.
Bowlers Vishnu Priyan, Sandeep Yadav, Sandeep Nayak, RK Raahul, Rajeev, Balachandra Naveen, Dhruv Sharma and Raju Gowda can combine their pace and spin skills to try and demolish the opponents here; they have many all-rounders who can shine with bat and ball when situation demands and try to give the team the required firepower.
They will need to execute the game plan to perfection and although the challenge from Warriors will be huge, the Rock Stars will be determined to perform better than their outings in previous editions.
Both teams will use their resources cleverly to dominate on the field and the contest could swing either way. Although Rockstars have some talented players with bat and ball, Mysuru Warriors who recently won their opening game, are clear favourites to overcome the challenges and emerge victorious on Sunday
