Namibia

Not many knew about the Namibian cricket team until it threw up one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history by defeating Sri Lanka in the first round. The team is currently 4th on the points table, trailing the USA by 3 points. But with plenty of matches in hand, they can most definitely make it to the top 3.

Namibia will be feeling pretty confident going into this game, as it has won both its matches played over the last 10 days. Gerhard Erasmus has been the pick of the batsmen for Namibia and has been scoring at an excellent average of over 45. However, the other batsmen have lacked consistency, batting well only in patches. JJ Smit has proved to be a handy all-rounder, scoring 558 runs and picking up 28 wickets from 24 matches.

Bernard Scholtz is the top bowler for Namibia and has received good support from the seamers, Jan Frylinck and Ruben Trumpelmann. Carrying an excellent form, the Namibian bowlers will surely ask some tough questions to the Scotland batsmen. 

Scotland

Scotland is currently second on the points table, and well on track to finish within the top 3. With 40 points, it trails Oman by just 4 points but has played 8 games fewer compared to them.

Scotland has played some excellent cricket throughout this tournament, losing just 7 of the 28 matches that it has played so far. Calum MacLeod is the top-scorer for his team, followed by Kyle Coetzer. Craig Wallace and Michael Jones have been only recently included in the squad, and have shown some promise.

Richard Berrington has played some excellent knocks for his the but hasn’t featured in the last few matches. The spinners have done a superb job for them Scotland team so far, as both the left-arm spinners, Hamza Tahir and Mark Watt are the top 2 wicket-takers for the team. Gavin Main and Safyaan Sharif have bowled well with the new ball, but have enjoyed limited success.
