Most cricket pundits had written off Nepal, and predicted a whitewash for them in this series. However, the team defied the odds to make a superb comeback, to give themselves a good chance of winning this series.

Arjun Saud had scored a half-century in the first match but fell for a duck this time, and Aasif Sheikh was once again disappointing. However, the middle order showed great resilience. Aarif Sheikh and Gulsan Jha were particularly good lower down the order and stitched a 62-run partnership to ensure that Nepal achieved its target with relative comfort.

While the team is missing the services of its star bowler, Sandeep Lamicchane, Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi have bowled well in this series, keeping the opposition batsmen under check. 

United Arab Emirates

After an authoritative performance in the first match gave them a lead early on in the series, UAE was quite timid in the second match, getting bowled out for mere 191 runs.

Muhammad Waseem and Vriitya Aravind once again provided their team with a good start, putting up a 72-run opening stand. However, the middle order failed to capitalize on this. Rohan Mustafa, who scored an impressive half-century in the first match, was particularly disappointing this time around. But he did compensate with a decent spell with the ball, picking up 3 wickets.

Alishan Sharafu and Basil Hamid put up some resistance, but couldn’t prevent a collapse lower down the order.

Talking about the bowling, much will depend on the performance of Aayan Afzal Khan and Sabir Ali in this game.
