NK vs AA Match Prediction - Dec 07, 2022

We are cruising ahead in The Ford Trophy 2022-23 and things look pretty exciting already. With the ODI World Cup not too far from here, all players playing would want to put in their best and announce their candidature for a place in the New Zealand domestic international squad. The next matches are going to be exciting from the standings as well as the individual performances point of view.

Up next in the tournament, we are all set to see Northern Districts taking on Auckland Aces in what will be one of the most important matches for both these teams. Both sides are still in the bottom half of the tournament and will need to register a win to stand a decent chance to qualify for the next round. The match between the two matches will be played on 8th December 2022 at the Seddon Park, Hamilton.

NK vs AA Team Previews

Northern Knights

With many Kiwi internationals available when playing full-strength, Northern Districts are one of the best sides of the tournament. However, more often than not, they are not available at their full-strength and the same seems to be the case in this tournament as well. They have played a couple of games thus far and have won just one. They are placed at the fourth spot on the ladder with five points to their name and a net run-rate of -0.036.

Given the side they have, they will be itching to register a win here and a win will take them to the third spot. On paper, the Northern Districts still have a pretty good side with pretty much all bases covered. All they’ll need to do is to play to their potential and if they can do that, getting past them could prove to be rather difficult.

Auckland Aces

Auckland Aces one used to be a force to deal with in New Zealand’s domestic cricket but their downfall has been fast and real. They have failed to do anything of significance in recent times but would want to find their mojo back. They have been poor in this edition too but a win here could pretty much put them on track to get amongst the top sides.

As it currently stands on the ladder, Auckland Aces are placed right at the very bottom with zero wins to their name from a total of two matches played. Not only did they lose both of their opening two matches, they lost them both with pretty high margins. As a result, they have a poor net run-rate of -2.963, which they will be looking to improve as well.

On paper, Auckland Aces have a decent side but lack of experience has been a factor in recent times. Also, because of how they have done in the tournament and in the matches preceding across formats, Auckland Aces might be a little under-confident. They certainly are a capable unit but would need to play to their potential to take on the Northern Districts. If they can do it, they will certainly be in it big time.

NK vs AA Betting Tips

It is an important match in the context of the tournament and both sides would want to do their best here. A loss for either side would put them in a spot of both and no team would really want that. Considering how the two sides have played so far and their teams on paper respectively, Northern Districts seem to be ahead. Considering that and the other factors stated above, we believe that they are the better team and it makes all the sense to bet in their favor. Back Northern Districts to win.
