But the real resistance came from Kyle Jamieson who hit 45 runs from 36 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. Danru Ferns also scored 23 runs from 12 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Neil Wagner was the most successful bowler for Northern Districts picking up 3 wickets from his 4 overs for 26 runs. He was well-supported by the likes of Scott Kuggeleijn, Kristian Clarke, and Joe Walker who picked up 2 wickets each.

Central Districts

The Central Districts outfit is going into this game with 3 losses in a row. They won their last game on the 14th of January. They played their last game on 29th January against Otago outfit. The Otago Volts won the game by 4 wickets despite some good showing from the Central Districts team. Batting first, the Central Districts side raised a good score of 187 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. But the Otago Volts chased down this big total in 19.3 overs with the loss of 6 wickets with 3 balls to go.

The openers did not score too many runs for the Central Districts team in this game. They both went for 5 runs each. But after these wickets fell, Will Young batted splendidly for Central Districts scoring 53 runs from 33 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. However, the Central Districts skipper Tom Bruce provided the real impetus to the innings. He smashed 79 runs from 45 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Bruce was helped on the way by Josh Clarkson who made a small but helpful contribution of 21 runs from 18 balls.

The Otago innings got off to a great start with all three of their top batters making a good contribution to the total. But the match was won for Otago by Ben Lockrose who hit 58 runs from 26 balls at the bottom of the innings with 5 fours and 4 sixes to take their side home. Jayden Lennox was the pick of the bowlers for Central Districts picking up 4 wickets for 28 runs from his quota of 4 overs. He was well supported by Ajaz Patel in his efforts with a solitary wicket from 4 overs giving away just 20 runs. But all other bowlers went for runs and wilted under severe pressure put by Lockrose toward the end of the innings.
