NL vs NEP Match Prediction - Oct 07, 2019

The Netherlands lost its opening match against Ireland while Nepal won its first game pretty comfortably against Hong Kong. This is going to be a much tougher contest, though, since the teams are better matched.

The Netherlands has a better team in terms of talent pool and experience but the conditions are going to favor the Nepalese spinners. It will be interesting to see who prevails in this contest.

Both the teams are building up to theT20 World Cup Qualifiers and every match is going to help them get closer to their final squad of fifteen.

Netherlands vs Nepal T20 Oman T20 Series is going to be played at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amarat, Oman on the 7th of October 2019.

NL vs NEP Team Previews

Netherlands

The Netherland has lost one of its major players before the start of this match and that is going to set it back in this tournament. Ben Cooper top-scored in the first match for the Netherlands and has been injured. He is no longer going to be available for the rest of the tournament.

That means that the other batsmen like Max o Dowd, Tobias Visee, and Colin Ackerman need to play a bigger role in the matches to follow. This is not a bad thing as it will test out the Netherlands batting in the absence of arguably their best player.

Paul van Meekeren, Roelof van der Merwe, and Shane Snater were pretty good in the previous game without getting a lot of success. This bowling attack should be able to get its just rewards against a weak Nepalese team.

The Netherlands bowling attack will know that it just needs a few early wickets to put Nepal under pressure. The batsmen will have to wary of Sandeep Lamichhane and the other slower bowlers who are adept at using the slow conditions to their advantage.

Pieter Seelaar, Colin Ackermann, Fred Klaassen, Scott Edwards, Brandon Glover, Max O'Dowd, Shane Snater, Antonius Staal, RE Van Der Merwe, Paul Van Meekeren, Tobias Visee.

Nepal

KC Karan bowled very well and stole the limelight from Sandeep Lamichhane by picking up four wickets in the previous match. He showed that Nepal’s bowling attack is going to be tough to face in these slow conditions.

Nepal’s bowlers must believe they can keep the Netherland batsmen under check especially now that Ben Cooper has been ruled out of the tournament.

All the bowlers had a great outing against Hong Kong but they would know that the challenge ahead of them is much more serious in this contest.

Paras Khadka, the heart, and soul of Nepal’s batting lineup, was out first ball against Hong Kong. The batsmen to follow struggled and it took a brave inning from Binod Bhandari in the lower order to get Nepal over the line.

The batting is something that is going to trouble Nepal in this entire tournament. They have not been able to develop a strong batting lineup and will struggle to post a big total or chase anything significant down without a contribution from Parask Khadka.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions in Oman are favorable for the slower bowlers. The batsmen can get in and score freely once they are used to the pace of the pitch since the surface is very flat. The weather is going to be hot but no rain is forecast and so we should have no interruptions during the match.

NL vs NEP Betting Tips

We think the Netherlands should be able to win this match even without the services of Ben Cooper. The conditions will bring Nepal’s bowlers in the game but its batting is just too weak to be a real threat.

Bet on the Netherlands to win.
