With three losses in three matches on their tour of Netherlands, nothing seems to be going right for the Zimbabweans at the moment. Coming into the tournament, in both ODIs and T20Is, they were arguably the better side on paper, but they've so far failed to showcase this on the ground. Before they move to Ireland, they will have one final chance to redeem themselves against Netherlands in the second T20I match of the two-match series. The game is set to be played at The Hazelaarweg Stadion on 25th June. Netherlands have punched well above their weight in the tournament so far. Their senior players have delivered which has been the prime reason for their three scintillating wins. It's going to be difficult to keep going, but they have done it so far and considering the way things have gone, the fourth match of this tour promises to be a cracker of a contest.
Contrary to everyone's expectations, Netherlands have been breaking records in this tournament. They started with handing Zimbabwe a massive defeat in the first match of the series and built on to it with a mammoth chase in the second One Day International - their highest ever in ODIs.
After a 2-0 victory in the ODIs, they showed no signs of taking their foot off the gas pedal as they got off to a terrific start despite losing Tobias Visee early. Max O'Dowd continued his impressive run and stitched a brilliant partnership with Ben Cooper as the latter struck a super half-century and kept their run-rate floating above 10-runs an over. His dismissal left them in a spot of bother, but Roelef van der Merwe shrugged it off and smashed a brilliant fifty. He played a scintillating innings of 75 runs coming in just 39 deliveries to thrust the hosts of 199 for six which proved too much handle for the visitors.
Bowlers bowled well according to the plan for Netherlands as none of them leaked runs up-front and kept bowling in tight channels. Fred Klaassen and Pieter Seelar were picks of their bowling as they both picked up three wickets each to rock Zimbabwe. They eventually dismantled the Zimbabwean batting unit on 150-runs and won the match by 49 runs.
Tobias Visee, Max O'Dowd, Ben Cooper, Saqib Zulfiqar, Wesley Barresi, RE Van Der Merwe, Scott Edwards, Pieter Seelaar, Fred Klaassen, Brandon Glover, Paul Van Meekeren.
Despite their lead players scoring runs in bulk, things haven't really gone Zimbabwe's way in any of the three matches so far. They came close to toppling the hosts in one of the matches, second ODI to be precise, but other than that, there has been a broad spectrum of daylight between their and the hosts' performance.
The vulnerabilities they showed in the first two matches was on its peak in the first T20I of the series where they failed in all the facets of the game. Bowling first in conditions which had a bit of assistance for the quick bowlers, the Zimbabwean bowlers were erratic in their line and lengths, and all of their bowlers leaked runs. Although they had picked up three wickets by the end of nine overs, they failed to keep Netherlands' run-rate in check.
Chasing a total of a tall order, Zimbabwe got off to a decent start and were in a decent position to chase down the total at 103 for 4 in 13 overs with Craig Ervine well settled at the crease. However, some brain fade batting couple with impressive bowling for the hosts saw Zimbabwe lose five wickets for just 21 runs. The last pair tried to get them closer to the target, but they were left to do too much in too little time.
Hamilton Masakadza, E Chigumbura, Craig Ervine, BRM Taylor, Peter Moor, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Ryan Burl, C Mpofu, Tendai Chatara, Kyle Jarvis.

This series was expected to be a lot closer than it has been and the credit must be given to the way Netherlands have played so far. They've played fearlessly and have taken advantage of playing at home exceedingly well. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have struggled in all facets of the game. Even though the visitors are a more experienced side between the two, they haven't played like one. It is difficult to ignore how Netherlands have played in the series and considering their in-form batting lineup and a terrific bowling attack; the hosts are firm favorites to register a win in the upcoming encounter.
