The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants have got off to a great start in the Mzansi Super League 2019 and are currently at the top of the MSL League table. They are now going to be playing against Durban Heat, a side that is second from the bottom but has not had much chance to do anything about it.
Three out of the four matches that Durban Heat was scheduled to play have been washed away because of rain and they ended up losing the only match that was completed. Can Durban Heat get some momentum into the campaign or will the rain continue to follow them all over South Africa?
Nelson Mandela Bay Giants vs Durban Heat MSL T20 is going to be played at St. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth on the 23rd of November 2019.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants are unbeaten in MSL 2019 so far and have been the most impressive side of the tournament. In fact, they were in a strong position against the Tshwane Spartans as well when the rain came down and prevented them from pressing towards a victory.
There have been different people leading from the front in the matches that the Giants have played. Imran Tahir, Chris Morris, JJ Smuts, Ben Dunk, and Heino Kuhn have all made significant contributions in the tournament already.
A slight concern would be present regarding the opening partnership of Jason Roy and Matthew Breetzke. Both of them have not been able to get going so far and the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants seem to be a wicket or two down early in every single match.
JJ Smuts top-scored with 73 in the previous match and continued to baffle everyone watching why he has not played for South Africa more often. A fine 40 not out from Marco Marais down the order and a cameo by Chris Morris showcased the depth of the Giants batting lineup.
Now imagine if the opening batsmen start contributing as well, that would really make the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants a tough side to beat.
The bowling attack has been very good as well Chris Morris, Imran Tahir, Nandre Burger, Junior Dala, and JJ Smuts have all been accurate and have been able to pick wickets at regular intervals. The pressure is always going to be on the opposing team to get a big total against the Giants and so they will be forced to take risks against the bowling lineup.

It is very difficult to ascertain anything about a team when they have spent the vast majority of this tournament sitting on the sidelines. One T20 match is too small a sample size to make assumptions about the players and that is why we think that Durban Heat must be evaluated on the basis of its strength on paper.
We know that Durban Heat has a canny captain in Dane Vilas who is going to make the most of his resources. He batted at number four in the truncated match against Tshwane Spartans and struck two sixes in the six balls he faced.
That is a good sign for the batting lineup. If Alex Hales, David Miller, and Andile Phehlukwayo can also start contributing with the bat on a regular basis then there is no reason why Durban heat should fall short of runs against any opposition.
Wihaan Lubbe has already played a fantastic inning in MSL 2019 and is in good touch while Ravi Bopara is a dangerous lower-order batsman as well.
The bowling is the area where we have a lot more concerns. Kyle Abbott and Keshav Maharaj are the two leading bowlers of the side with support from promising domestic players and all-rounders. We don’t rate Abbott or Maharaj very highly in the first place and none of the other supporting bowlers strikes out as being particularly dangerous either.
Durban Heat is up against a strong batting side and must hope that its bowlers have one of their best days to be able to prevent the Giants from running wild.

The weather forecast is for clear skies and plenty of sun so all the fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief. The pitch at Port Elizabeth has been excellent for batting and will offer up a great surface for this match as well.
The bowlers can find some life in the wicket if they are willing to bend their backs but we are sure that it is going to be a high-scoring encounter.
Dream11 Team and Dream11 Prediction for Nelson Mandela Bay Giants vs Durban Heat. We are going in heavily on the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants because we believe their team is one of the best in MSL 2019. They are also in great form. A couple of obvious picks and some risky ones to balance things out and hopefully differentiate our team enough to make a difference.
We are not going to count out Durban Heat completely in this match but cannot advise betting on them either. The weak bowling attack just leaves too many doors open for the opposition. The proven form and strength of the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants tilt things their way
Bet on the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants to win.
