NOS vs OVI Match Prediction - Jul 31, 2021

The Northern Superchargers are still looking for their first win of the Hundred 2021 after three matches. One of them was rained out but they lost the other two. This next match against the Oval Invincibles is quite important for them. The Oval Invincibles have played two matches so far in the Hundred with one victory and one wash-out.

It is just before the halfway mark in the Hundred and teams have enough time to be able to move up the league standings. There have been some terrific betting opportunities on offer for the Hundred matches so far and we will try our best to uncover some more of them.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Northern Superchargers vs Oval Invincibles the Hundred 2021. The match is going to be played at Headingley, Leeds on the 31st of July 2021.

NOS vs OVI Team Previews

Northern Superchargers

The Northern Superchargers are going to be without Ben Stokes in this match. He was supposed to join the England Test squad but has instead opted to take a break from the game. His unavailability is a big loss but it also gives an opportunity to give some other talented players a chance.

Batting has been an obvious problem for the Superchargers. They have recorded just one individual fifty so far and only batsman has managed to score a total of 100 runs. Harry Brook has been the best batsman for the Superchargers while Adam Lyth has been the most disappointing.

We rate Lyth very highly but he underperformed his potential. He can turn it around quite quickly but we are not going to be betting on him just at the moment.

The other batsman to watch out for would be Chris Lynn. The Aussie smasher plays at his best when there is no option but to attack. He has been bogged down and only has 13 runs in the Hundred 2021 edition so far. He is someone who could hit a lot of sixes and we don’t mind taking a punt on him.

Adil Rashid, Callum Parkinson, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Brydon Carse, and David Willey help form a very competitive bowling unit. With surfaces taking a bit of spin across the tournament, Adil Rashid could hold the key alongside Mujeeb in this match.

Oval Invincibles

The Oval Invincibles have a big advantage over some of the other one’s in the Hundred. Most of their first-choice players are going to be available for the tournament as they are not a part of the Test team. Jason Roy and Will Jacks should open the batting as Sam Curran is going to be unavailable.

That is a powerful batting lineup that will either score very quickly or see one of the players get out cheaply. We don’t mind looking at the Highest Opening partnership betting market for these two.

Sam Billings, Colin Ingram, and Laurie Evans help round out a strong batting unit.

Tom Curran, Reece Topley, Saqib Mahmood are the big names in the bowling attack apart from Suni Narine of course. Narine was brilliant in the first match he played and looks like he is going to be very difficult to score off. Someone like Mahmood who bowls at the death is a good option to be the highest wicket-taker.

NOS vs OVI Toss Prediction

Teams have been choosing to bat first in the Hundred but we think Leeds might be different. The pitch here should be able to stay firm for the duration of both matches to be played and allow teams to chase without any major disadvantage.

Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.

Pitch and Conditions

There is a slight chance of rain but the forecast improves as the time of the match approaches and so we are expecting an uninterrupted match. Headingley is often a very high-scoring venue during the T20 Blast with scores of over 200 being reached (and chased) regularly. The same should be the case for this match as well.

A score of around 140 should be considered the least that teams aim for batting first.

NOS vs OVI Betting Tips

We are going to back the Northern Superchargers to win this match. A lot of their players play at Headingley as their home and are going to be well-versed with the conditions. We are also backing their senior players like Chris Lynn, Adil Rashid, or even Adam Lyth to make a big impact in this match.

Bet on Northern Superchargers to win.
