The T20 Blast 2022 season continues and we have a very interesting match to consider next, both from a cricketing and a betting perspective. Nottinghamshire started the season brilliantly but has lost track and has just three wins from its ten matches. It does, however, have a lot of batting firepower on paper that can help it dismantle any opposition.
Derbyshire was not one of the favorites to begin with but it has won seven out of the eleven matches it has played, including five on the trot leading up to this contest. This is why the odds being offered by the cricket betting sites where they have Derbyshire as the clear underdog don't sit quite right with us.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Nottinghamshire vs Derbyshire T20 Blast 2022. The match is going to be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on the 23rd of June 2022.
Nottinghamshire's strong batting lineup suddenly seems to have gone on vacation. It has now been several matches since we have truly seen the best of what Nottinghamshire's batters are capable of. Alex Hales got a fifty in the previous match but only two other batters got into double figures and not one of them crossed 12!
Joe Clarke, Tom Moores, Ben Duckett, Samit Patel, and Dan Christian are certainly a formidable batting lineup on paper. This game, though, is not played on paper and we give a lot of importance to current form.
The bowling lineup has also done pretty decently, all things considered. They have not had the biggest targets to defend on most occasions and even when they have kept the opponents to small totals, Nottinghamshire has failed to chase them down.
Fletcher, Carter, Patel, and Mullaney are quite okay as a bowling unit and should not be taken lightly.
Joe Clarke, AD Hales, S Budinger, Ben Duckett, Tom Moores, SR Patel, Steven Mullaney, DT Christian, Zak Chappell, Matthew Carter, Luke Fletcher.
Derbyshire is on a real roll right now. It has won its previous five matches in a row and is now in second place in the North Group standings. A lot of the focus has been on Shan Masood, and rightly so, but Wayne Madsen, Hayden Kerr, and the other batters deserve a lot of the credit as well.
Madsen smashed 73 off just 37 deliveries in the previous match against Northamptonshire and helped Derbyshire chase down a tricky target with ease.
The Derbyshire lineup may not boast of the big names like Nottinghamshire but they are performing as a unit and are in better form coming into this match.
What about the bowling? Once again, if you just take a look at the names, Derbyshire does not necessarily have players that stand out. Mark Watt, Hayden Kerr, George Scrimshaw, and Samuel Connors are not going to give the opposition sleepless nights.
What we have seen from Derbyshire is the ability to stick to plans and keep things tight. The lineup knows its limitations and is playing to its strengths rather than trying to be outrageous.
Shan Masood, Luis Reece, Leus du Plooy, Wayne Madsen, AL Hughes, Brooke Guest, Hayden Kerr, Matt McKiernan, Sam Conners, George Scrimshaw, Mark Watt.
The team that wins the toss is going to field first. There are some scattered showers forecast on match day and that could play into the decision to field.

The weather is a bit overcast and there is a moderate chance of rain on match day. The pitch at Trent Bridge is one of the best in the country for batting. The ball comes onto the bat nicely and the boundaries are very inviting as well. We should have a high-scoring match if the entire quota of overs is bowled by both teams.
Something around 170 should be seen as par and 200 is certainly not out of the question.

We are going to bet on Derbyshire to win. The odds being offered on Nottinghamshire are just too short to take take the risk. Yes, the team has plenty of big names in its lineup but with five losses in the previous six matches it has played, those names are clearly not performing. We would much rather take the better odds and stick with the in-form team.
Bet on Derbyshire to win.
