NOT vs LAN Match Prediction - Jun 26, 2021

T20 Blast is marching forward and the picture that looks a little uncertain now should get a lot cleared by the end of this weekend. We have many matches that will be played across the three days of this jam-packed weekend. The next match in the tournament is to be played between Lancashire and Nottinghamshire, who both are coming off poor performances in their last respective matches. The match between the two sides is to be played on 26th June 2021 at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham.

NOT vs LAN Team Previews

Nottinghamshire

Just like Lancashire, Nottinghamshire are coming off a poor batting performance in their last match. Considering that the Notts are placed at the second spot on the ladder, a batting performance as poor as that wasn't really expected from them. They bundled out for just 137 in their recent match against Derbyshire and will need to do a lot better against a potent side like Lancashire.

At the moment, Nottinghamshire have won four of their five completed matches and have ten points in total. Besides, they have a net run rate of 1.092, which is the second-best amongst all teams in the group.

On paper, Notts have one of the best-balanced sides, at least on paper. The opening pair of Joe Clarke and Alex Hales is second to none and could be tough to deal with even for the best bowlers in business. While their bowling looks a little over-reliant on Jake Ball and Luke Fletcher, they certainly have the batting lineup to balance that. If Nottinghamshire manages to bowl well, beating them is not going to be easy.

Nottinghamshire Playing 11

Joe Clarke, AD Hales, S Budinger, Ben Duckett, Tom Moores, Samit Patel, Steven Mullaney, Luke Fletcher, Matthew Carter, Calvin Harrison, Jake Ball.

Lancashire

Even though Lancashire have lost a couple of players to national duty, Lancashire do not at least look as weak on paper as one would assume. However, their recent performances haven't really been impressive. At the time of writing, they were looking in an inferior position in their match against Northamptonshire.

As it stands, Lancashire are placed at the sixth position on the points table with eight points to their name and a net run-rate of -0.060. Lancashire registered a tie against Nottinghamshire before their meeting against Northants and will want to do a bit better in this upcoming match.

The absence of Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone has certainly taken a bit of strength away from their batting. It was apparent in their match against Northants as well as they could score only 137 runs batting first. All in all, Lancashire have a decent batting unit but will need to gain some confidence and gather some momentum. If they manage to get that in the first few overs of the upcoming match, beating them is going to be difficult.

Lancashire Playing 11

Finn Allen, KK Jennings, Alex Davies, Rob Jones, DJ Vilas, Steven Croft, Luke Wood, Danny Lamb, Tom Hartley, Saqib Mahmood, Matt Parkinson.

NOT vs LAN Betting Tips

T20 is such a format that coming back from a string of bad losses can be difficult to come back from. Both sides are coming off poor performances with the bat in the last match and will want to better here. Comparing the two sides on paper and on recent performances, Nottinghamshire appear to be a better side and are, therefore, our pick to win the upcoming match.
