Nottinghamshire is going to be playing against Northamptonshire in this Vitality T20 Blast 2019 match as both teams search for their first victory of the tournament. This is going to be the second scheduled match for Northamptonshire while it will be the third match for Nottinghamshire although a rained out fixture last time around means that both teams have been on the park just one time.
Northamptonshire would have been disappointed to not have been able to chase down 148 against Durham in their opening match while Nottinghamshire would have been similarly disappointed on failing in their own chase against Worcestershire.
This match gives both the teams a chance to make amends and get their T20 Blast 2019 campaigns off and running.
Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire Vitality T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on the 24th of July 2019.
The Nottinghamshire Outlaws would have been very disappointed at their batting performance in their opening match of the season. For a side that is filled with top-grade England batsmen like Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, Joe Clarke, and a number of very handy all-rounders, a lack of runs should not be the reason for defeat.
They are not going to be up against a very strong bowling attack in this match and we think they should be able to do better.
Alex Hales showed signs of good form and he is again our player to watch out for. Ben Duckett will also be keen to prove his worth to Nottinghamshire against the side from which he was transferred.
If the pair of them can get going at the top of the order then there is no telling what carnage they might cause.
We don’t mind the Nottinghamshire bowling attack in its current state at all. They have Harry Gurney, Jake Ball, Samit Patel, and Dan Christian in their side apart from Luke Wood and Matthew Carter. There are enough options to find an answer to any situation.
Gurney and Christian are a very good bowling combination at the death and are bound to pick up a lot of wickets.
Joe Clarke, AD Hales, Ben Duckett, Jake Libby, Tom Moores, DT Christian, SR Patel, Luke Wood, Matthew Carter, Jake Ball, Harry Gurney.
Falling just seven runs short of a small total would have hurt Northamptonshire. The side has faced a number of high profile exits and is not expected to be a challenger for the title. Its performance against Durham was pretty good and we think their future opponents are going to refrain from taking them easy.
The core of the Northamptonshire side is built around the two international all-rounders, Dwayne Pretorius, and Faheem Ashraf. These two are expected to bowl their quota of overs and contribute with runs in the middle order.
The day this strategy comes off as planned, Northamptonshire is going to be difficult to beat but up until then, we think they are going to suffer.
The bowling department is a bit underwhelming. Ben Sanderson, Joshua Cobb, and Matt Coles are not bad bowlers but they are not going to win you too many matches either. We think the Northamptonshire batting is going to need to provide its bowling with the cushion it needs.
This is where things start to fall apart. There are a number of good batsmen in the Northamptonshire side like Adam Rossington, Alex Wakely, Joshua Cobb, and the international all-rounders. None of them are in very good form, though, and we see Northants continue to struggle for runs in the short term.
One of the top-order batsmen, possible Rossington, needs a big score early in the T20 Blast 2019 to help kickstart things for Northamptonshire.
Charlie Thurston, Adam Rossington, Josh Cobb, Alex Wakely, Rob Keogh, Faheem Ashraf, Matt Coles, Dwaine Pretorius, Graeme White, Ben Sanderson, Nathan Buck.
The team that wins the toss may want to bat first. The pitch should be at its best for batting first up and chasing might get difficult if the surface starts to slow down.

Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire Vitality T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. An excellent day for cricket is predicted on match day. There is next to no threat of rain and plenty of sun to allow a full match to be played out.
The pitch at Trent Bridge is excellent for batting. It was one of the grounds during the World Cup where 300 plus scores were got consistently.
We expect a high-scoring contest with 180 being par batting first.
The Dream11 team for Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire is going to be dominated by hard-hitting batsmen and some quality all-rounders. There are some very good players available for Dream11 selection and we think there is a good opportunity to make some money in this match!
Wicketkeeper: Adam Rossington is easily the best wicketkeeper-batsman in this category. Northamptonshire tends to play him high up in the batting order and he will get plenty of chances to garner Dream11 points.
Batsmen: We have picked Rob Keogh, Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, and Alex Wakely in our Dream11 side for Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire. All of these batsmen are top-order players and can strike the ball cleanly. We think Keogh could be a lesser owned player in this category and having him in the team is going to be a big asset.
All-rounders: We have picked Samit Patel, Faheem Ashraf, and Dwayne Pretorius in our side for this match. Samit Patel is a genuine all-router at this level while both Faheem Ashraf and Dwayne Pretorius are current international all-rounders that can contribute with bat and ball.
Bowlers: Wood, Gurney, and Sanderson are all excellent T20 bowlers. They bowl upfront with the new ball or in the death overs and thus have an excellent chance of picking up wickets.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have selected Alex Hales as captain and Dwayne Pretorius as vice-captain for our Dream11 picks Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire.
Nottinghamshire was unlucky to have lost its opening match. It was in a dominating position for the most part but could not finish it off. We think the Nottinghamshire Outlaws are going to get their first victory of the T20 Blast 2019 in this match. They have a better batting attack and plenty of T20 skill in its bowling lineup.
Bet on Nottinghamshire to win.
