Nottinghamshire became the first team to lose to Leicestershire in the T20 Blast 2019 and this is something that could come back to haunt them towards the end of the tournament. Leicestershire is not a very strong side this time and we think most other playoff contenders are going to be able to beat it quite comfortably.
Nottinghamshire is going to be playing this match against the Birmingham Bears, another side that been patchy this season. Birmingham Bears are actually placed one place above Nottingham in the table right now although both teams have won the same number of matches.
Nottingham has played one extra game, though.

Nottinghamshire
A poor start to the T20 blast 2019 was followed by a reversal in fortunes and just as it looked that Nottinghamshire is getting into its stride, it managed to lose against Leicestershire. Still, the side has won two out of its last three games and that is what the focus must be ahead of this important game.
Nottingham has a very strong batting lineup and that is always going to be its strength. Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, Joe Clarke, Tom Moores, Dan Christian, and Samit Patel are all very good with the bat. Even Imad Wasim who has joined the team is a very useful lower-order batsman as he showed a couple of time in the World Cup.
This gives Nottingham a long batting lineup that should be confident of doing well against the Birmingham Bears.
Plenty of all-rounders in the side also mean that Nottingham has a lot of options in its bowling attack. Dan Christian, Samit Patel, Imad Wasim, Jake Ball, Luke Wood, Harry Gurney, and Luke Fletcher are all regular bowlers in the side.
This means that Nottingham should have a competitive bowling attack no matter what the conditions.

Birmingham Bears
The Birmingham Bears were handed a tough chase in their match against Northamptonshire after rain interrupted and DLS calculations came into place. Matters were made worse when Birmingham lost Ed Pollock of the first ball he faced.
Michel Burgess, Sam Hain, Adam Hose, and Ashton Agar swung for the fences but were never able to get a lot of rhythm in the inning.
We don’t think this Birmingham Bears batting unit is very good and it is always going to struggle while chasing a big total. Ed Pollock is crucial at the top of the order to get the side off to a fast start while Adam Hose and Sam Hain are pretty much the last of the recognized batsmen that Birmingham has in its lineup.
A couple of early wickets are going to be tough to recover from and that is exactly what Nottingham is going to be targeting.
The bowling for the Birmingham Bears is usually its strong point. Jeet6an Patel had an off day in the previous match but that is not something we are used to seeing. Fidel Edwards has a happy knack of picking up early wickets while Ashtin Agar is quite effective in T20 cricket as well.
Every one of these bowlers is going to need to be at his best against Nottingham otherwise we could see a very one-sided match.
