NOT vs YOR Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Aug 31, 2020

Nottinghamshire is a difficult team to beat at any time but more so when they have a bit winning momentum going. They won their previous match against Durham with ease and will now be taking on Yorkshire.

Yorkshire would have played a match against Derbyshire by the time this one comes around and so we may have some more information about the form of their leading players.

With Joe Root on one side and Alex Hales on the other, we have plenty of top-class batting talent to look forward to.

Nottinghamshire vs Yorkshire T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on the 31st of August 2020.

NOT vs YOR Team Previews

Nottinghamshire

The strength of the Outlaws has always been their batting. They have some serious power hitters for this edition of the T20 Blast as well. Chris Nash scored 55 from just 29 balls, Alex Hales got a start, and then Joe Clark smashed 100 not out from 44 deliveries.

He smoked 8 sixes and made a mockery of a target of 182.

With Ben Duckett, Daniel Christian, and Tom Moores in the middle-order, the Nottinghamshire Outlaws have a lot of batting to call upon. Head to head, especially without some of Yorkshire’s best players, Nottinghamshire seems to have the better batting lineup.

Samit Patel and Jake Ball are going to be leading the bowling attack with Mullaney and Christian to round things off.

As a T20 opponent, Nottinghamshire is a very dangerous team to come across.

Nottinghamshire Playing 11

Chris Nash, AD Hales, Joe Clarke, Ben Duckett, Tom Moores, DT Christian, Steven Mullaney, Samit Patel, Luke Fletcher, Jake Ball, Matthew Carter.

Yorkshire

There are at least four world-class players missing from the Yorkshire lineup but that is not something that they can think too much about. They just have to work with what they have and there is some serious talent still to count upon.

We think Adam Lyth, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Joe Root are capable of making the runs needed to win consistently. Lyth has improved and become a serious power hitter in recent times. Tom Kohler-Cadmore was very consistent with the bat in the previous edition of the T20 Blast but did not have too much support.

This is where Joe root is going to be crucial. He has said publicly that he wants to play the T20 format at the international level. There is nothing better than scoring runs to put pressure and make his way into the squad.

Jack Shutt, Mathew Pillans, and Jordan Thompson are three bowlers that will take the lead for Yorkshire with the ball. Without David Willey and Adil Rashid, the bowling attack is a bit thin and is going to be tested against the Nottinghamshire batting.

NOT vs YOR Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. Defending a score is very difficult at Trent Bridge and so batting second should be seen as a distinct advantage.

Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.

Pitch and Conditions

The weather forecast for Nottingham is pretty good and we should not have any rain interrupting proceedings. The pitch at Trent Bridge is one of the best to bat on in the world. The boundaries are short and six-hitting is pretty easy.

We have seen scores of 200 being chased down easily here in the past. Any team batting first would like to get as close to 200 as possible to feel they have a decent chance of winning.

NOT vs YOR Betting Tips

We think Nottinghamshire is the team to back in this contest. It is going to be playing at home and will have a strong batting lineup to take advantage of the conditions. Yorkshire is missing a lot of first-choice players and that can be difficult to recover from.

Bet on Nottinghamshire to win.
