Nathan Rimmington took 3-24 while Shiv Thakor and Wes Durston took 2 wickets each to restrict the opponent to 167.
They will need to improve in all departments of the game and bounce back in the upcoming match with their talent and experience; the bowlers must find their rhythm against Northamptonshire batsmen and move forward with determination if they want to survive here.
Northamptonshire surrendered the last match against the Notts by 7 wickets after posting a competitive total of 173 on the board; Josh Cobb hit a career best 84 off 56 balls with good support from Ben Duckett who scored 30 runs and Adam Rossington who posted 28, to take Northants to what seemed a good total. However, the bowlers failed to restrict Notts from reaching the target with Azharullah, Graeme White and Olly Stone taking just a wicket each.
The Northants in their 8th match beat Worcestershire by a margin of mere 2 runs after piling up 193 runs on board; Steven Crook blasted 56 while Rory Kleinveldt and David Willey contributed 42 and 31 runs respectively to take the team to a competitive total. He bowlers did a commendable job to defend the target with Kleinveldt’s all-rounder skills helping them scalp two wickets.
