Morrisville Samp Army outfit did a wonderful job in the competition staging a dramatic comeback in competition with a win over the fancied Deccan Gladiators side. The Deccan team is one of the top teams in the competition and it is no mean achievement to win a game against this team. Samp Army won this game by a margin of 19 runs and has sealed a place in the playoffs. Batting first the Samp Army team scored 126 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. The Samp Army top-order batting lineup is handled by the likes of Jonathan Charles, Karim Janat, and Moeen Ali.

The Samp Army middle order is manned by batters such as David Miller, Chamika Karunaratne, Dwaine Pretorius, and Basil Hameed. The Samp Army bowling attack is led by Sheldon Cottrell and it is supported by the likes of Karim Janat, Ahmed Raza, Anrich Nortje, Dwaine Pretorius, and Chamika Karunaratne. Sheldon Cottrell was the pick of the bowlers for the Samp Army with a couple of wickets from 2 overs giving away just 13 runs in the process.
