The Abu Dhabi T10 League started with some exceptional fireworks in the first match wherein Northern Warriors defeated Maratha Arabians with considerable ease. The third match of the second day of the tournament is set to be played between the Warriors and Qalandars. Before that, Qalandars are set to play Team Abu Dhabi. The match between Qalandars and Northern Warriors will be played at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 16th November. Both the sides are packed with some power-packed players and it promises to be a cracker of a contest.
The Warriors got off to just the kind of start they were looking for as they thumped Maratha Arabians in the first match of the tournament. Putting Arabians in after winning the toss, Chris Wood and Andre Russel got Warriors to a dream start as they got rid of Adam Lyth and Chris Lynn in the first and the third over respectively.
Andre Russell and Riyad Emrit continued to build pressure on the Arabian batsmen thereafter as well. Together they gave away just 27 runs in four overs and picked up three wickets to break the backbone of Arabian middle-order. Maratha Arabians were eventually restricted for just 88.
Chasing a total of 88 should never have presented problems for the Warriors and hence it proved. They lost Sam Billings without many runs on the board, but that proved to be a blessing in disguise as Andre Russell thereafter smashed Arabian bowlers left, right, and center. Andre Russell scored 58 runs off just 24 deliveries as he single-handedly drove the match away from the Warriors.

Qalandars are yet to feature in the tournament, but they certainly do have a pretty good unit, at least on paper. Their upcoming match against the Warriors might well prove to be the toughest game in the season, considering the form Russell is in.
Qalandars have an equally power-packed batting unit with the likes of Luke Ronchi, Philip Salt, Laurie Evans, and Tom Banton. It is still to be seen how their batting as well as bowling does in the opening encounter, which they are set to play against Team Abu Dhabi today.
Qalandars were pretty good in the
Tom Banton, Luke Ronchi, Dawid Malan, Philip Salt, S Prasanna, Jordan Clark, Laurie Evans, Chris Jordan, Lahiru Kumara, George Garton, Sultan Ahmed.
Check out the Dream11 team for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 match between Northern Warriors and Qalandars:
These are early days in the tournament and it is difficult to compare the teams on the basis of form. Having said that, the Warriors have gotten off to a kind of start that is tough to ignore. Between the two sides, they have a better-balanced unit and the x-factor of Andre Russell. The inexperienced bowling unit of Qalandars could bit them especially in the death overs, against Andre Russell. Considering the two teams on paper and how they (Warriors) did in their respective opening encounters, the Warriors are better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming fixture.
