New York Strikers have undoubtedly been the best side of the tournament so far and the number of wins they have up their sleeves is a testament enough for them. They have lost just one match out of the total of eight they have played and will be looking to build on the momentum and take the title home.
At the end of the league stage, they had played seven matches and won six of those. They also finished with a spectacular net run-rate of 0.805 along with 12 points and that speaks volumes about the dominance that they showed. On paper as well, they are not reliant on one or two players to deal the damage but have a rather well-balanced side. All they would need to do is to hold their nerve in this high-pressure contest and if they can do that, getting past them could prove to be a rather difficult task.

Deccan Gladiators
It needed a blazing knock from Andre Russell for Deccan Gladiators to make a way for themselves in the finale and boy he did deliver at the right time. Just when Deccan Gladiators were looking out of the tournament, they pulled up their socks and delivered on the big stage. While they finished at the fourth spot on the points table in the league stage, their form of late has been terrific and will be brimming with confidence coming into this match.
On paper though, they do appear to be a little too over-reliant on Andre Russell to contribute in both departments of the game. Having said that, now that Russell has found his feet and will be better acquainted with the conditions than he has been in the entire tournament, he will be the key man for them. All Deccan Gladiators would need is the rest of their batsmen to step up their game and if that happens, New York Strikers willl have their work cut out.

Needless to say, this is the most important match of the tournament and both sides would want to win here and take the title. Deccan Gladiators are the defending champions and will be pretty confident of winning the finale, especially with Andre Rusell back in form. On the other hand, New York Strikers did a better job in the league stage and they would be itching to score yet another win. They also have a better-balanced side between the two and will be better suited to handle high-pressure situations.
