England’s tour to New Zealand represents the beginning of a new cycle for English cricket. 2019 has been a big year for them as they managed to win the 50 over World Cup and then draw the Ashes series 2-2. The focus will now shift to the T20 World Cup 2020 which is less than a year away.
To this effect, England and New Zealand are going to be playing five T20 matches to kick off this tour and start to get their final squad of players together. There are some exciting young players to watch out for and a couple of big names missing but the small grounds, excellent batting pitches, and athletic fielding should make for brilliant viewing.
New Zealand vs England 1st T20 is going to be played at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on the 1st of November 2019.
New Zealand is currently ranked 6th in the ICC T20 rankings and appears to have some work to do to be able to get in shape for the T20 World Cup. It is going to be missing Kane Williamson for this series and is going to be led by Tim Southee instead.
That is a huge blow to New Zealand’s chances because not only is Kane Williamson the side’s best batsman but he is also a very good leader.
Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor will have to do the bulk of the run-scoring in Kane Williamson’s absence as the two most senior players in the side. Both of them are very dangerous in this format of the game. Guptill, particularly, thrives in home conditions and is going to be the biggest threat.
Colin Munro warmed up with a smashing century against England and should be in line to open the batting alongside Guptill. This combination makes New Zealand very dangerous to start out with.
The rest of the batting seems dependent on all-rounders and that could be a dangerous thing for New Zealand. Daryl Mitchell, Colin de Grandhomme, James Neesham, and Tim Siefert are expected to round out the batting order.
All of these players are dangerous but none of them are particularly dependable in terms of consistency.
Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner, and Blair Tickner are expected to take the field for the first match. Trent Boult is not going to be playing the first match and is only in the squad for the last two matches.
New Zealand has a strong T20 side for sure but it needs its senior players to lead with the bat otherwise it could struggle against England.
Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, Ross Taylor, Colin de Grandhomme, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Scott Kuggeleijn, TG Southee, IS Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson.
T20 cricket has been on the backburner for English cricket understandably for the last few months. Now, though, some new faces in the side brought-in with a view towards the T20 World Cup signal a change. This five-match series is going to be very important for England as it looks to put together a side capable of challenging for the title.
Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, and Joe Root are some of the big names that are going to be missing from the England side for this tour opening up opportunities for the new faces in the squad.
Perhaps the one player that everyone will their eyes on is Tom Banton. The opening batsman from Somerset has everyone excited about his talent with the bat. He is a very innovative player that has risen through the ranks quickly and almost certainly will make his debut in this match.
Eoin Morgan, Dawid Malan, Sam Billings, Joe Denly, Jonny Bairstow, and James Vince are the other batsmen in the squad. There is some serious batting talent in this lineup and even though it is missing some first-choice names, the depth is probably better than what New Zealand possesses.
Sam Curran, Tom Curran, and Lewis Gregory are going to be fighting for the all-rounder spots in the side. We think that the Curran brothers add a lot more with the ball and could be very dangerous in New Zealand conditions.
Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid are perhaps the two bowlers in the squad that are assured of their place in the T20 side for the foreseeable future. They both perform brilliantly in this format and are excellent wicket-takers under pressure.
Patrick Brown is our pick for the second seamer in this side thanks to his brilliant ability to bowl in the death overs while Saqib Mahmood would bring some more pace to the table and be dangerous that way.
England has a lot of room to try out new players and its squad may be a bit inexperienced but it is certainly not weak.
Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, J Vince, Eoin Morgan, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Lewis Gregory, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, AU Rashid, Patrick Brown.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. Defending a total can be tricky on small grounds where big hits are never too far away.

The weather forecast in Christchurch on match day is pretty good and we should have a full uninterrupted game being played out. As far as the pitch goes, the Hagley Oval can be relied upon to provide an excellent batting surface.
The ball will come on the bat nicely and the short boundaries make six-hitting much easier as well.
A score of 180-190 must be seen as par by both teams at this venue.
Dream11 Tips and Prediction for New Zealand vs England T20 is going to include some hard-hitting batsmen and as many death over bowlers as possible. We have included a couple of lesser-known names on the basis of their performances in the T20 Blast and that knowledge could help differentiate the team from others.
We think the home team starts out as favorites in this match but that England could well spring a surprise. Its players are drilled in T20 cricket and have played in high-pressure matches around the world. The England side is ranked second in the ICC rankings and has won its last five matches as well.
This may be the right time to get in on England when the odds being offered are favorable.
Bet on England to win.
