After suffering a heart-breaking defeat against England in the ODI World Cup, the New Zealand fans were once again left disappointed last year, when they were defeated by neighbors Australia in the finals of the shorter format last year. However, the Black Caps have moved on and will be focussing on the upcoming edition.

After defeating West Indies in both, the ODIs as well as T20s, New Zealand faced a rude jolt in the 3-match ODI series against Australia, where they were white-washed.

While captain Kane Williamson remains the mainstay of batting, along with Martin Guptill and Finn Allan, the inclusion of several all-rounders within the squad lends a good balance to the team. Chapman, Bracewell, Santner, Neesham, and Mitchell are all capable of delivering with both, the bat as well as the ball. Tim Southee, Trent Boult, and Lockie Ferguson can all be devastating on the bouncy pitches of Australia.<br />  

India

Despite crashing out of Asia Cup, the Indian team is feeling pretty confident ahead of the start of its campaign. Surya Kumar Yadav has been in devastating form, and Virat Kohli too seems to have come out of the deep trough in form.

One area of concern for the management is the fitness of the players, some of whom look fatigued due to incessant workload. The team will miss key players like Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah. One of the bigger concerns remains India's bowling. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar hasn’t been consistent enough, and Mohammad Shami, who has been flown in as Bumrah’s replacement, hasn’t played much international cricket off late.

It remains to be seen how the youngsters, including Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel, cope under the pressure.
