NZ vs IND Match Prediction - Jan 29, 2020

India vs New Zealand T20 series is currently 2-0 in favor of the visitors and the hosts are under tremendous pressure to get their act right. This is a T20 World Cup Year and every single match is going to be watched closely by teams around the world. We have no doubt that India’s success is giving the other contenders some jitters already.

While India has a big lead right now in the series, it has not wrapped things up and this is where the third T20 comes into the picture. New Zealand will be desperate to set things right in its camp and get a win to keep the series alive.

A bit of introspection and some team changes may be necessary for New Zealand to challenge India, though.

New Zealand vs India 3rd T20 is going to be played at Seddon Park, Hamilton on the 29th of January 2020.

NZ vs IND Team Previews

New Zealand

New Zealand was close in the first T20 but was completely showed up on a slow surface in the second one. Not only were the conditions more to India’s liking but the visitors also showed much better awareness of the game.

This is something that must concern New Zealand.

Granted that New Zealand does not have its best bowling attack but its batting lineup is at full-strength. For them to be able to barely score 132 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs is just inexcusable. Colin Munro may have scored runs in the first T20 but we think New Zealand may want to change things up a bit and give some of the other players a chance.

Martin Guptill has looked very dangerous and New Zealand really needs for him to score one of his trademark big scores. Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Colin de Grandhomme, and Tim Siefert make a dangerous middle-order but there is a lack of explosive hitting power.

New Zealand’s batsmen are going to be up against a confident Indian attack at one of the larger grounds in New Zealand. They are not going to find it easy to clear the boundaries in this next match either.

Hamish Bennett and Blair Tickner have been expensive for two matches in a row now and it may be time to try one of the reserve bowlers. Tim Southee was able to get some early wickets and the spinners tied down the Indian batsmen so those are some positives for the New Zealand bowling attack to build on.

It is scary for New Zealand to think hat India’s best batsmen have not really got going in the series just yet.

India

2-0 up and a chance to register another series win abroad would make Virat Kohli very happy. He said publicly that winning abroad was one of his major goals when he became captain and he is proving that on a regular basis.

If India can win this series then it will be the first T20 series win for them against New Zealand in New Zealand. India has strengthened its batting by giving Lokesh Rahul the gloves although they must be careful of not asking too much from him physically.

Rahul has been in tremendous batting touch and has two fifties to his name already. With Shreyas Iyer also in good touch, the Indian batting is showing it is more than just Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. It would be a brave man that bets against Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli getting some big runs to their name before the T20 series is over.

Seddon Park is the kind of surface where both the batsmen will enjoy playing. Virat Kohli likes to take singles and doubles to get going which is much easier at the larger grounds.

Shivam Dube has been proving to be a very decent all-round option with a few overs in the middle and the ability to hit the long ball. With Manish Pandey and Ravindra Jadeja in the lineup as well, India has a much stronger batting lineup than New Zealand.

Jasprit Bumrah has been spectacular during the two T20 matches and the other two pacers were much better in the second one too. It will be interesting to see if India gives Navdeep Saini a chance or will try to win the series before making any changes.

Yuzvendra Chahal has been bowling nicely as has Ravindra Jadeja.

There are no major problems for India at the moment and they look difficult to stop.

NZ vs IND Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss may want to field first although there is no real advantage to either strategy at this ground.

Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.

Pitch and Conditions

There are a few showers expected in Hamilton match day but the forecast improves dramatically around the time the match is expected to start. We don’t think there is any concern about the weather taking away overs from the match.

The pitch at Seddon Park is very good for batting. There were two completed matches at Seddon Park in the Super Smash and both of them saw the team batting first score over 190. That is about the par score that teams batting first will be aiming for.

This is a late start and the dew should remain the same for both the teams so the conditions are not going to favor any one strategy after winning the toss.

NZ vs IND Dream11 Prediction

Dream11 team and Dream11 prediction for New Zealand vs India 3rd T20. The venue shifts to a much larger playing area in Seddon Park, Hamilton and that will affect both the teams as well. The spinners will be more effective and the bowlers will have a bit more margin of error. We have gone heavy on the all-rounders in this match as the large playing area will allow more room for experimentation by the captains as well.

The surface is expected to be good for batting so top-order batsmen from both sides become a necessity as well.

NZ vs IND Betting Tips

We think India is going to win this series in this match. They have been ruthless in the two matches they have played and have been winning without major contributions from Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli. It is just a matter of time before one of those two gets a match-winning score and it could well be in this match.

India’s bowling is far superior to New Zealand and its spinners will enjoy the large boundaries at Seddon Park.

Bet on India to win.
