OV vs CK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 29, 2020
The action in the Super Smash continues as the Otago Volts play their second game in a span of 24 hours against the Canterbury Kings. This is going to be the first match that the Canterbury Kings play this season and so they are at a bit of a disadvantage.
Canterbury Kings, though, have dominated the other teams in 50 over cricket and are definitely one of the ones to watch out for.
Otago Volts vs Canterbury Kings Super Smash 2020 is going to be played at Molyneux Park, Alexandra on the 29th of December 2020.
OV vs CK Team Previews
Otago Volts
The Volts won their opening match by 46 runs thanks to some very good batting performances from Llew Johnson and Mitch Renwick. Most of the batsmen got a start and scored at a healthy clip.
The likes of Hamish Rutherford, Neil Broom, Anaru Kitchen, and Nick Kelly give the Volts a pretty decent batting lineup.
We have seen what Jacob Duffy is capable of in international cricket now and it is just a matter of time before he becomes a regular with the New Zealand team. Till that time, though, the Volts have a potentially world-class bowler leading their attack.
He is going to be supported by Mitchell McClenaghan, Anary Kitchen, Michael Rippon, and Matthew Bacon.
The Volts have a well-balanced team with some proven international talent to help lead them in all the departments.
Otago Volts Playing 11
Hamish Rutherford, NT Broom, Nick Kelly, Mitchell Renwick, Llew Johnson, Anaru Kitchen, Joshua Finnie, MJ Rippon, Matthew Bacon, MJ Mcclenaghan, Jacob Duffy.
Canterbury Kings
The Kings have named their squad ahead of this match and so we know now that they will be missing almost all of their international players for this opening match. That being said, there is still a lot of quality in this team.
Cole McConchie is going to captain the side and has said that he is very excited to see Matt Hay in action. He is a young batsman with a full range of shots and can play all around the wicket.
Matt Henry is a part of the squad and it will be interesting to see how he turns up after a long injury layoff. Todd Astle, Chad Bowes, Leo Carter, and Ken McClure are some of the other players that should make into the playing eleven.
This is a good squad but we don’t think it is the best at T20 cricket. Its main players are missing and Matt Henry is coming back from a long layoff that complicates things further.
The start of the Super Smash could be a bit bumpy for the Canterbury Kings.
Canterbury Kings Playing 11
Chad Bowes, Ken McClure, Jack Boyle, Cole McConchie, Leo Carter, Cameron Fletcher, Matthew Hay, Matt Henry, TD Astle, Will Williams, Ed Nuttall.
OV vs CK Toss Prediction
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch is expected to be a bit bowler-friendly and has a bit of inconsistent bounce. The boundaries are small in dimension and so we could still see a high-scoring match but there is no doubt that the batsmen will have to spend some time in the middle before being able to really expand.
OV vs CK Betting Tips
We think the Otago Volts will be able to make two in two after this match. They have a deeper squad that has allowed them to play a number of quality players even though the international team players are not available.
Bet on the Otago Volts to win.
