Pakistan goes into the third test with some serious questions to answer. For the first time in many years, its pace attack has been completely outdone by a visiting team. Injuries are to blame sure but Pakistan will be worried whether its inexperienced attack can cause trouble to the English bowlers in this match. 

We think the spin threat from Abrar Ahmed, Zahid Mahmood, and Mohammad Nawaz will be what Pakistan relies on in this match. Pakistan is essentially playing with Mohammad Ali as the only fast bowler with Faheem Ashraf as the seam-bowling all-rounder. 

This indicates that the pitch is going to be a turning one. While bringing the spinners into play, it will also ask some tough questions of the Pakistani batting. Imam ul Haq, Babar Azam, and Saud Shakeel all had some good moments in the previous match but neither did they fire in tandem nor did they convert their innings into massive ones. 

That meant Pakistan's batting was always a couple of steps behind. This does not mean you should count out the batters. There is a lot of class and depth in the Pakistani lineup, especially while playing in home conditions.

England

England goes into this match with two changes. They have added Ben Foakes to the lineup in place of Jimmy Anderson and also brought in Rehan Ahmed for Will Jacks. In a lot of ways, this has further strengthened England's batting which now extends to number 9. 

By making these substitutions England has ensured it can continue to go out there and attack from the first ball. The two batters that have made the most impact so far are Ben Duckett and Harry Brook. Both of them are sublime to watch against spin and give England attacking options even when the conditions seem against them. 

Ollie Pope, Zak Crawley, and the lower order has done quite well also. Surprisingly, Joe Root and Ben Stokes are the two batters that are still short of runs in the series. 

England has given itself a number of options of picking up 20 wickets. In Jack Leach, Rehan Ahmed, and Joe Root, they have three spin bowling options while Ollie Robinson, Mark Wood, and Ben Stokes will take up the seam bowling duties. 

England's spinners will be attacked by Pakistan but if they can keep their composure, we think they have a great chance of picking up some wickets.
