Pakistan has made a couple of interesting changes to its squad after the Asia Cup and whether it changes its style of playing also remains to be seen.
England is resting a number of players for this tour but the depth in its T20 resources is so great that its team will still have world-class options for all positions. The cricket betting sites have Pakistan as the slight favorites ahead of the first game.

Pakistan
Pakistan reached the final of the Asia Cup but its performances were lacking. The selectors have taken the somewhat strange decision of dropping Fakhar Zaman and replacing him with Shan Masood. The elegant left-handed Masood has had a very productive T20 Blast and was also good in the PSL but has yet to make his international T20 debut.
The focus is also going to be on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Easily the most prolific T20 pair, their strike rate has found to be lacking and they will be under pressure to attack from the word go. Khushdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Asif Ali should continue to find a place in the middle order.
With Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz as the spin-bowling all-rounders, Pakistan certainly has the depth needed to attack. Its bowling attack will be without Shaheen Afridi once more but Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Hasnain will ask tough questions from all the English batters.
Pakistan is a tough team to beat in home conditions but it certainly has to change its playing style to get past England.

England
England will be led by Jos Buttler for this series and he has an absolutely gun batting lineup at his disposal. In fact, one of the questions in front of him is going to be fitting everyone in at their preferred positions. We expect to see Buttler open the batting with Phil Salt followed by Dawid Malan at three.
Of course, with Alex Hales in the squad, England also has the option of opening with him (something that we think would be the better cricketing decision but may not happen immediately). Buttler can drop down the order himself to accommodate all the top-order batters that he has.
Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, and Harry Brook could be the middle-order batters to start out with for England. They also have David Willey, Liam Dawson, and Jordan Cox in the squad to choose from.
Mark Wood is making a comeback but he is not going to play all seven matches. Whether he starts or not will depend on how England feels about his fitness. Adil Rashid, Reece Topley, and Olly Stone could be in the lineup for the first match.
There are so many players for England to choose from that they could go in a number of different directions. With seven matches to play, expect a lot of rotation to keep players fresh and injury-free.

The weather forecast for match day is excellent. There is no rain predicted and the weather should be hot without being uncomfortable. There will be dew during the second half of the match and make life tough for the bowlers. We think a score of around 170-180 should be seen as par batting first.

While there has been talk about strike rate and intent, it is going to be difficult to change immediately. England, on the other hand, has mastered the approach of aggressive batting. Moeen Ali is going to captain for the first match and he likes to bat in the top order when possible. We think that gives him a good chance of scoring runs. He is also very good against the spinners and comfortable playing in subcontinental conditions.
