All of this puts a lot of pressure on the team as it takes on the Netherlands in a must-win game. This is perhaps the easiest match that Pakistan will play in this edition and it has no option left but to try and register a big win. The Netherlands was beaten quite comprehensively by India in the previous match and will hope to put up a better show this time.

Pakistan
Pakistan has now played six T20 internationals in Australia and has lost all of them. The analysts have shared a number of stats showing just how vulnerable the Pakistani batters have been to steep bounce. This problem is not new and has plagued the team for quite some time. They are likely to be peppered with a lot of short stuff in all of their matches.
Against the Netherlands, though, this problem should not be very severe since they are not going to be up against bowlers that have a lot of pace.
Shan Masood has emerged as the best batter for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup so far but he has been far from convincing as well. Babar and Rizwan are too good to miss out for very long and we think you can back them to score some runs as well.
A few changes in the lineup seem likely at this point. We are not sure if Shaheen Afridi is back to full fitness and may be rested. Also, Haider Ali's place in the team seems to be quite vulnerable. Khushdil Shah may get a chance in his place.
Pakistan's best bowler has been Haris Rauf and he could really run through the Netherlands lineup.

Netherlands
The Netherlands has not been able to really put up a fight after having reached the Super-12 stage. Its batting is quite weak and the bowling lineup does not have the necessary edge to trouble any of the leading teams. This is not to say that the Netherlands cannot pull off an upset but for it to be able to do so against a team like Pakistan will require something very special.
Max'Odowd, Bas de Leede, and Colin Ackerman are perhaps the best batters for the Netherlands. We don't think any one of them is good enough or dependable enough to bet on. The bowlers will be aware of the problems Pakistan is having with the short ball and will try to exploit it.
However, bowlers like Fred Klaassen and Bas de Leede are unlikely to have the zip of the surface that will allow them to succeed at that strategy.

The weather forecast for Perth on match day is excellent. There is no rain predicted and we should have an uninterrupted match to enjoy. The pitch at the Perth Stadium has been very quick. It has offered steep bounce and a lot of carry. There is no doubt that run-scoring has been a bit tough at Perth so far. Only Marcus Stoinis was truly able to get set and clear the boundaries.
We could see another match in which 160 is a winning total.

We are going to back Pakistan to win. It is important to remember that Pakistan lost both of its matches narrowly. It dominated most of the match against India and any team can have a bad day, as it did against Zimbabwe. That does not make Pakistan a bad team suddenly. The conditions are a bit different from its liking but we still think they have enough and more skill in their ranks to beat the Netherlands comfortably.
