After winning the two test matches against South Africa comprehensively, Pakistan would now be eying a win in the T20 series. In a lot of ways, this T20 series could be quite important for both these teams. Not only do we have a T20 World Cup around the corner but we also have some new faces in the squads of both teams.
That means we will have a good idea of what the bench strength is like for Pakistan and South Africa moving forward. The presence of so many young players also adds another layer of unpredictability in the contest and that should make it more exciting.
It is a shame that South Africa made so many changes to this leg of the tour in anticipation of the Australian tour but that got canceled as well.
Pakistan vs South Africa 1st T20 2021 is going to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on the 11th of February 2021.
There was a pretty big uproar when Pakistan announced its squad for the T20 internationals as some big names were missing. Mohammad Hafeez was the biggest missing player and it will be interesting to see who replaces him.
Babar Azam and Haider Ali will bat at the top of the order for Pakistan. There is no doubt about the class and quality of Babar Azam. His consistency makes him one of the best in the world and, in home conditions, he is going to be very difficult to stop.
Mohammad Rizwan, Khushdil Shah, Hussain Talat, and perhaps Iftikhar Ahmed are the other batsmen that will begin the series. Pakistan’s batting is quite dependent on Babar Azam and this is where South Africa will sense an opportunity.
Faheem Ashraf has been in tremendous batting form and will add depth as a fast-bowling all-rounder.
The bowling, however, is world-class. Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Hasan Ali are likely to be the three fast-bowlers that start. There is pace, T20 skill, and death bowling expertise in this group that is going to seriously test the South Africans.
Faheem Ashraf and Usman Qadir are likely to be the others that round out the bowling attack.
Pakistan is playing in its own conditions and even some of its less-experienced players are going to be a handful. It certainly goes into the series with an advantage.
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Haider Ali, Hussain Talat, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Usman Qadir, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf.
South Africa picked this T20 squad keeping the Australian series in mind. All of its senior players were supposed to quarantine themselves 14 days ahead of the series and so were not picked. This means no Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Faf du Plessis, or Anrich Nortje for this series.
However, ask Heinrich Klaasen, the captain for this series, about the missing players and he will not give you a second look. Klaasen insists that this is not a second strong team at all. It has some of the most consistent performers of South African cricket and a lot of players that have played T20 cricket around the world.
David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Andile Phehlukwayo, and Tabraiz Shamsi are some names that people will be familiar with but they are far from the only players to watch out for.
Janneman Malan, Reeza Hendricks, JJ Smuts, and Ryan Rickelton are some other very talented batsmen. They have enough power and skill in this lineup to give the Pakistanis a run for their money.
The bowling attack for South Africa is a bit thin. Junior Dala, Bjorn Fortuin, and Lutho Sipamla are the bowlers that seem to be likely to lead the attack in the first match. They could find going a bit difficult in the Pakistani conditions.
Janneman Malan, Reeza Hendricks, Jacques Snyman, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Andile Phehlukwayo, Bjorn Fortuin, Junior Dala, Lutho Sipamla, Tabraiz Shamsi.
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. The conditions at Gaddafi Stadium should not change much except maybe the pitch could get a bit slower making chasing difficult.

There is absolutely no rain predicted for match day and so we should have an uninterrupted game to enjoy. The pitch is going to be flat and good for batting. The bounce is even but a bit on the lower side.
A score of around 170 should be considered par batting first.

Pakistan seems to hold all the aces going into this match. It is playing at home with a side that is near full-strength against a South African team that is without all of its first-choice players. The batting is a bit weak but overall Pakistan should have enough to get over the line in this contest.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
This is an easy one to recommend. Not only is the price that you are getting great but the bet is very likely to come through as well. The inexperienced South African lineup against the strong Pakistani bowling could crumble. On the other hand, Pakistan’s batting is not too dependable either!
You win both ways.
Yes, we know the odds on this bet are not very good but this is as good as a sure shot. Bet big and make the most of this win. One batsman from either side is going to get past fifty on the flat Gaddafi Stadium surface. Take the money!
Haider Ali is going to open the batting for Pakistan. He is a naturally aggressive batsman that is going to clear the boundary if he stays at the crease for even a short amount of time. The return for this bet is quite attractive but the risk of Haider Ali throwing away his wicket is also real.
