Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan finally got underway as the rescheduled 2nd ODI between the two sides was played out in front of a full house. Pakistan dominated the match and ended up winners but the Sri Lankan youngsters showed plenty of fight as well (https://www.onlinecricketbetting.net/cricket-betting-tips/pak-vs-sl-30-sep-2019/).
Remember, this is a match between a full strength Pakistan side and a Sri Lankan team that is missing 5-6 of its first choice players that refused to travel because of security concerns.
The third ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is a must-win for both sides. Sri Lanka can tie the series by winning this match while Pakistan would not be happy with anything less than a clear series victory either.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI is going to be played at the National Stadium, Karachi on the 2nd of October 2019.
Pakistan did almost everything right in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. It batted first and made the most of the friendly conditions to post a total of above 300. That is not something rare these days and Pakistan has shown itself to be quite capable of reaching 300 routinely over the last year or so.
Babar Azam stroked his eleventh century and was instrumental in getting Pakistan to a winning total. The ease with which he bats, the clarity of thought, and the consistency he shows is just remarkable. He is now averaging over 74 in matches played in Pakistan so betting against him getting runs in the third ODI may not be a smart option.
Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, and Haris Sohail also got runs while the lower order contributed with some big hits as well. The role of Sarfaraz Khan in this batting lineup is not clear and the pressure would be mounting on him to start contributing.
Usman Shinwai took a five wicket haul and was the standout bowler. Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Imad Wasim, and Ifitikhar Ahmed also bowled very well. It was Shadab Khan that went for plenty of runs for a change although he did pick up two wickets.
Pakistan has a stronger side than Sri Lanka and is the clear favorite to win once again.
F Zaman, Abid Ali, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Usman Khan.
Shehan Jayasurya and Dasun Shanaka saved the Sri Lankan team some blushed after stitching together a stand of 175 for the sixth wicket. The pair raised hopes for a brief amount of time that Sri Lanka could come close to chasing down the Pakistani total but that did not happen.
The top order of the Sri Lankan batting completely collapsed and was unable to put up a fight at all. Danushka Gunathilaka, Avishka Fernando, Lahiru Thirimanne, the three main batsmen of the side all failed miserably.
Sri Lanka cannot hope for individual brilliance to bail it out every single time and must try to put together partnerships from the start. We expect to see a better batting performance from them in the third ODI.
What is concerning is that batting was supposed to be the stronger suit for the Sri Lankan side coming into this match. Its bowling has been struggling for quite some time now and failed to make any impact once again.
Not a single bowler looked threatening or used the conditions to his advantage. Lahiru Kumara and Nuwan Pradeep are the two fast bowlers that look likely to be able to pose a challenge to the Pakistanis but they need to improve rapidly ahead of the third ODI.
HDRL Thirimanne, Danushka Gunathilaka, Avishka Fernando, Angelo Perera, Minod Bhanuka, Shehan Jayasuriya, Dasun Shanaka, Wanidu Hasaranga, Lakshan Sandakan, Nuwan Pradeep, Lahiru Kumara.

The weather has improved in Karachi and another clear day is forecast for match day. The pitch was better than what he had expected and did not slow up as much as expected. The teams can expect some good batting conditions in the third ODI as well.
We think that the Pakistani side is far too strong for this Sri Lankan team. The advantage in batting strength and bowling quality should help Pakistan win the series 2-0.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
