Pakistan and Zimbabwe are going to play their second straight T20 match in two days. At the time of this writing, Pakistan looks on course for a comfortable victory against Zimbabwe with Babar Azam well set and the required run-rate in control. The home side would have been hurt after losing the final ODI and will want to wrap up the T20 series in this match.
Zimbabwe put up a good fight in the first match with the bat. It did not, however, get that one inning to take it to a winning total. Can it learn from its mistakes in the second T20?
Pakistan vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20 2020 is going to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on the 8th of November 2020.
Having lost and bowling first, Pakistan would have been keen to get in some early blows against Zimbabwe and that is exactly what they did. Mohammad Hasnain got a wicket in the first over before Haris Rauf sent back the dangerous Taylor.
Wickets at regular intervals made sure that Zimbabwe could only manage a below-par total.
Pakistan’s T20 batting has improved but it still centers around Babar Azam. He showcased his class once more and unleashed a flurry of boundaries from early on in the inning. He has been criticized for playing a bit slow in the past but no one can say that after this inning.
Babar batted above the required rate comfortably and made sure there were no early hiccups.
The addition of Mohammad Hafeez in the middle-order is a huge plus as well. He has been brilliant for Pakistan in recent T20 internationals and although he is getting on in age, there does not seem to be anyone better than him pushing for his position right now.
Mohammad Rizwan, Khushdil Shah, and Faheem Ashraf form a strong lower order.
Pakistan’s bowling was expectedly excellent. Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain picked up early wickets and kept the runs down while Usman Qadir had a tidy outing in his first T20 international. Faheem Ashraf struggled and Wahab Riaz was a bit expensive but nothing that is going to make Pakistan nervous.
If Pakistan does want to give some youngsters a go, then we hope it is now when the series is still alive and not when everything is done and dusted.
Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Haider Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Wahab Riaz, U Qadir, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain.
T20 cricket has been a tough assignment for Zimbabwe in recent times. We don’t think they have a poor team but it is not the best suited to T20 cricket. Their batsmen look a bit unnatural when they are trying to go hard at the bowling and their bowlers do not really excel at death bowling.
They are always going to struggle but as they showed in the ODI series, they can never be counted out.
Zimbabwe has to bat out of its skin if it has to challenge Pakistan. As we have said earlier, for that to happen, one of Brendan Taylor or Sean Williams must have a great game. Taylor got a start and was looking in good knick before getting out.
Sean Williams and Wesley Madhevere put on a good partnership but Williams needed to stay for a bit longer. Although Madhevere stayed not out on 70 till the end of the inning, he was not able to get the finish needed.
Sikandar Raza is the other T20 professional in this side and someone who has played a lot of franchise cricket around the world as well.
Zimbabwe will be encouraged that it managed to reach 156 in this match. If it can get close to 170-180 then it can make a real match of things.
Its bowlers need the scorecard pressure to trouble the Pakistani batsmen. Blessing Muzarabani is the one that everyone will look to after his heroics in the ODI’s but Tendai Chatara, Richard Ngarava, Sean Williams, and Sikandar Raza are decent as well.
BRM Taylor, Chamu Chibhabha, Sean Williams, Wesley Madhevere, Sikandar Raza, Ryan Burl, E Chigumbura, Tendai Chisoro, Donald Tiripano, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. The pitch is not going to change too much but getting a good score on the board is going to the aim for both teams.

The pitch at Rawalpindi for the 1st T20 was very good for batting. The same is expected for the second game as well. We don’t think there will be too much slowing down after just one game and so another relatively high-scoring game can be expected.
A score of around 170 should be seen as par batting first. Pakistan will look for 200 if it bats first.
We have no hesitation in backing Pakistan for the second T20 as well. It has been far better than Zimbabwe, save for one match that it lost in the Super Over. The form of Babar Azam with the bat and the superiority of its bowlers, both give Pakistan a great chance to win the T20 series without going to the third match.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
We think these are excellent odds for this match especially if Pakistan bats first. The conditions have been excellent for batting in Rawalpindi and Zimbabwe has shown itself to be pretty capable with the bat as well. If Pakistan gets 200, Zimbabwe just needs to get 150 plus for you to win this bet.
Just take this money because 10Cric is giving it away with this betting market. A return of just over 25% is not great but the risk here is minimal. Any one batsman from either side can get past fifty and get you this win. An easy choice to make in our opinion!
Zimbabwe is not the hardest-hitting team but even it should get 4 or more sixes to help you win. Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, and Madhevere are all in great form while Sikandar Raza is a good hitter of the ball as well.
