Pakistan women won the second T20 international against Bangladesh women and won the first-ever international women’s series being played in Pakistan. It is a historic achievement and should give a big boost to women’s cricket in the region. There is still one more match to be played, though, and we think that Pakistan would be keen to turn this into a clean sweep.
Bangladesh women came close again, eventually falling short by 15 runs, and would be buoyed by some promising performances down the order. There are some obvious shortcomings in both teams that make this contest exciting, although, the visitors certainly seem to be a half step behind the hosts in terms of talent.
Pakistan Women vs Bangladesh Women 3rd T20 international is going to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on the 30th of October 2019.
An excellent batting performance from the Pakistan women set up the win in the second T20. Javeria Khan scored 52 from 44 balls while Bismah Maroof top-scored with 70 not out from just 50 deliveries.
These two senior batters score dthe bulk of the runs with the other batters just chipping in.
This most recent batting performance was a lot more fluent from the Pakistani women and was played at a higher tempo. The players seemed to have gotten used to the pace of the wicket and were able to play their shots freely.
Pakistan women may have actually felt like then ended up 15 runs short at the break because they did not quite get the bosst in the end overs that was expected.
A start for Sidra Ameen and some quick runs from Aliya Riaz helps make this Pakistani batting more stable as well. We don’t think there is going to be any change or experimentation in this upcoming match and the Pakistani women should end up playing the same combination.
Sana Mir was back for this match and picked up one wicket during her four over spell. She was a bit expensive and will be looking to improve on her performance in the next match. Sadia Iqbal picked up three wickets and was the best bowler on the night.
The Pakistani bowlers would have liked to keep a tighter leash on the Bangladeshi women and must be careful about taking things easy ahead of the next match as well.
Javeria Khan, Ayesha Zafar, Bismah Maroof, Omaima Sohail, Iram Javed, Kainat Imtiaz, Diana Baig, Sidra Nawaz, Sadia Iqbal, Saba Nazir, Anam Amin.
The scorecard may show that Bangladesh women just lost by 15 runs but the fact is they were never really in the hunt. Three early wickets had more or less ended their hopes of a win and only some slogs at the end helped close the deficit.
It is almost as if Bangladesh does not believe that it can win a game at this point in time.
Its bowling performance was much poorer than what we saw in the first game and the batting remained inconsistent. It is difficult to see Bangladesh win a match if it continues to play like this.
Jahanara Alam was the standout performer with the ball as she picked up two wickets for 27 runs in her four overs. No other bowler was able to have much impact on the Pakistani batters.
Alam also smashed some quick runs down the order and finished with 18 runs off just five balls.
Rumana Ahmed played very well in the first T20 but was then unable to get off the mark in the second match. Sanjida Islam top-scored with 45 runs while Fargana Hoque chipped in with a quick 30 as well.
A lack of a clear plan and the inexperience in the side is preventing it from closing out these close games.
Shamima Sultana, Rumana Ahmed, Sanjida Islam, Nigar Sultana, Fargana Hoque, Sharmin Sultana Supta, Lata Mondal, Salma Khatun, Jahanara Alam, Shanjida Akther Maghla, Panna Ghosh.

The weather is expected to remain sunny and clear for the third T20 international as well. We have had some excellent weather in Lahore and that is not going to change for this match. The second T20 international was higher-scoring than the first one because the players were used to the pace of the wicket. The same can be expected for this final match of the T20 series.
We think Pakistan women are in a prime position to win the third match and end with a dominant 3-0 scoreline.
Bet on Pakistan women to win.
