Two matches and two dominating wins - England Women have made an extraordinarily good comeback in the ODI circuit after a disastrous home tour against Australia. While the series is already done and dusted, there is still a lot to play for both England Women and Pakistan Women. England will be looking to end the series on a high with a win before moving to the shortest format of the game whereas Pakistan will be playing for their pride in the third and final encounter of the series. The third match is to be played at the same venue of Kinara Oval Ground, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 14th December. Pakistan have punched well above their weight in the series so far and while they have failed to have any success in the series so far, England will not want to be complacent going into the final match. A closely-fought contest is certainly a possibility on Saturday.
Pakistan were left high and dry in the second match of the series as well after they were set to chase a total of 328. On a bright, sunny day, Pakistan lost the toss and were put in the field first. Although Nida Dar got them off to a dream start, picking up Danni Wyatt in the second over of the match, the had to struggle thereafter.
Pakistan failed not only to pick up wickets in the middle and death overs, but also conceded runs at a fast rate. Barring Nida Dar and Nashra Sandhu, who dismissed Tammy Beaumont for a personal score of 21, none of their bowlers looked like picking up wickets as they were hammered for 327 runs in total.
It was always going to be a steep chase for Pakistan and the early loss of wickets didn't help their cause. Sidra Ameen was dismissed after scoring a laborious 12, leaving her side in all sorts of trouble. Skipper Bismah Maroof and Nahida Khan played well for their 64 and 40 respectively, but with no support from any of their other batsmen left them 127 runs away from England's score. They were eventually dismantled completed in the 45th over with a total score of 200.
Nahida Khan, Javeria Khan, Kainat Hafeez, Bismah Maroof, Omaima Sohail, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Nawaz, Diana Baig, Syeda Aroob Shah, Anam Amin.
England had a poor series against Australia and they have bounced back brilliantly in this series, leaving nothing on the table for the Women in Green. They are at the second spot in ICC Women's Championship with 28 points in 20 games with a net run-rate of 1.267. Although, it looks rather improbable that they'd get past Australia and take the crown, they would certainly won't leave things easy for Pakistan in the upcoming fixture as well.
In the second match of the series as well, England displayed their all-round skills as they ran past Pakistan with considerable ease. Natalie Sciver smashed a quick-fire hundred and she was ably assisted by Fran Wilson, who scored a brilliant 85 not out off just 49 deliveries. The duo took England's total to 327, which at one stage looked like more in a 290-300-run range.
Their bowling matched their batting as they never allowed Pakistan to get off the hook. All of their bowlers, Anya Shrubsole, Sophie Ecclestone, Heather Knight, and Sarah Glenn, contributed with two wickets each as England picked wickets at regular intervals. England have already won the series and they are likely to experiment a bit in the third ODI, but they'd still be a tough side to deal with.
Tammy Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Freya Davies, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, Amy Ellen Jones, Heather Knight, Natalie Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Fran Wilson, Danielle Wyatt.

Although Pakistan have been testing in the series so far, they have not done enough to trouble England. England have been in fantastic form and that has showed in the results. Pakistan, on the other hand, have been brilliant, but in patches and those patches have been few, to say the least. Considering how the two teams have done in the series so far, it is going to be extremely difficult for Pakistan to make a mark in the upcoming contest as well. Although the odds for an England win are just 1.06, betting on them is pretty safe as their win is more or less certain in the upcoming match as well.
