Pakistan Women narrowly escaped yet another loss in their series against England Women as weather denied any further play after England Women had an upper hand on Pakistan Women. The ODI series got concluded 2-0 in favor of England with that no-result. The two teams will now move to play the shortest format of the game with the first match to be played on 17th December at Kuala Lumpur.
Pakistan Women can consider themselves lucky as weather ensured no further play was possible in the third match, awarding Pakistan Women with one important point towards their ICC Women's Championship. With that one point, Pakistan Women moved to the fourth spot at the ladder, surpassing the Proteas, who moved down a spot because of poor inferior net run-rate.
As compared to the ODI series, Pakistan aren't likely to make too many changes. A lot will once again depend on their skipper Bismah Maroof, who scored 140 runs in her three innings in ODIs. Apart from her, however, almost all Pakistani players struggled for form and consistency. There were moments of brilliance from them, but they were too few and didn't have the maginitude to make an impact on the result.
Considering how Pakistan did in the ODI series, it is difficult to visualize them causing any troubles for formidable English unit. Having said that, Pakistan have a few talented players available at their disposal and there wouldn't get a better format to showcase the skills and challenge England.

England were a better team in the One Day Internationals on all accounts and will certainly walk in as more confident of the two teams in the shortest format of the tournament as well. They won their first two matches comprehensively and were in driving seat before rain, in all probabilty, robbed them of a third win in the tournament.
England would be playing T20Is after a long time, but they will have no dearth of recent experience as almost all their players played in the recently concluded Women's Big Bash League.
In the ODI series, Tammy Beaumont, Natalie Sciver, and Heather Knight looked in stupendous touch as they scored with considerable ease against the inexperienced Pakistani unit. England would be taking this series as an opportunity to get their combination right for the T20 World Cup next year. Unless England play really badly, Pakistan are likely to have a tough time in the T20I series as well.
Tammy Beaumont, Danielle Wyatt, Heather Knight, Natalie Sciver, Amy Ellen Jones, Fran Wilson, Katherine Brunt, Sarah Glenn, Anya Shrubsole, Sophie Ecclestone, Freya Davies.

The difference in the performance of the two sides has been like that of day and night and Pakistan are likely to bridge that gap with the change in formats. Having said that, the shortest format of the game will suit them better and we can expect a better performance from the Women in Green. England, on the other hand, have done brilliantly of late, regardless of the format, and have almost all of their players in superb form. Therefore, we think that betting on an England's win will be the way to go in the first T20I of the series.
