There has been a little cricket across the globe and cricket-starved are presented with yet another opportunity to gorge themselves. The opportunity comes along in the form of ECN Czech Super Series T10, another T10 tournament, days after Vincy Premier League got concluded successfully. With four games scheduled per day, this tournament is like action-packed cricket pumped intravenously. Although the tournament is going to last for a month, the matches are to be played only on weekends. The final of the tournament will be played on July 12th.
The tournament will kickoff with Group A teams taking on each other on the opening day of the tournament. The first match will be played between Prague Barbarians Visigoths and United CC at Scott Page Field, Vinor Cricket Ground, Prague on Saturday, 13th June. While there are only a few star players featuring in this competition, the quality of cricket could take many by surprise considering the developments happening in Czech Cricket. The fans are certainly in for another round of treat in this ultra-short-format T10 tournament.
Prague Barbarians Visigoths will be looking to start their campaign on a winning note and they'll be looking up to their experienced players to deliver. Led by Yash Salian, Prague Barbarians Visigoths have done reasonably well in their recent matches. Although they faced a heavy defeat in their last competitive fixture, they had a terrific run of four consective wins prior to that.
Of the 20 matches they played last year across the all formats, Prague Barbarians CC emerged on top on nine occasions. However, their winning percentage in the T20 format was down to 30% as they won just three of the ten matches that they played.
On paper, Prague Barbarians CC have a reasonably good side. Sumit Pokhriyal, who is their only player to have considerable international experience, will be a key figure for them. Pokhriyal has played five T20I matches and has a total of 170 runs to his name with an average of 34. Pokhriyal and Salian form the backbone of PBCC's batting and a lot will rest on them for PBCC to post a good batting performance. Their bowling attack looks a little light, at least on-paper, with only Prem Nandivada and B Samad having a considerable experience of playing competitive cricket. Having said that, the ability to clear the ropes matter in the shortest version of the game and Prague Barbarians Visigoths appear to be having plenty of firepower available at their disposal.
Sahil Grover, Amritpal Rai, Piyush Kumar, Yashwantha Salian, Sumit Pokhriyal, Chandrakumar Meher, Harsha Chaganty, Prem Nandivada, Bilal Samad, Rahul Rungta, Ravi Sangam.
United Cricket Club is fairly new to Czech domestic scene and do not have much experience of playing as a team. They were neither the part of Pro 40 nor of the T20 series that were played last year. However, they have some incredibly hard hitting batsmen, who on their day can demolish any bowling attach on their day.
Wicket-keeper batsman Abhimanyu Singh is expected to open their innings with Vamsi Elugula and this opening pair will play a huge role for United CC as far as setting the tone for the innings is concerned. Umesh Kanyal as the ability to hit the ball long and will be the one to watch out as well. Apart from the trio, however, United CC appear to be a little light on firepower. Their bowling as well, seems to be lacking flair as it depends heavily to Saurabh Await to take wickets as well keep things quiet.
While United Cricket Club lack the experience of playing at highest level in the domestic circuit, they certainly have the ability to challenge even the best in the business. They would need their top-three batsmen to fire and if the likes of Singh, Kanyal, and Elugula are able to play to their potential, the Visigoths are going to have their work cut out.
Abhimanyu Singh, Chetan Sharma, Shyamal Joshi, Vamsi Elugula, Neelesh Pandit, Pramod Bagauly, Rhuturaj Magare, Kumal Deshmukh, Arpan Shukla, Amit Pangarkar, Mustafa Nawab.
While the surface isn't going to change much over the duration of the game, toss could have a considerable advantage. We might see some assistance for the quick bowlers in the morning. Additionally, the statistics favor the team batting second in the T10 format. For those reasons winning the toss and bowling first will be the way to go.

The ground features an outfield loaded with a green cover of grass and is expected to be a bit heavy. The hard surface is known to be a bit slow and we might see the ball sticking before coming onto the bat. Batsmen would want to spend a couple of overs before going for the big shots. Any total of over 80 could be a challenging score to chase for the team batting second.
Check out the Dream11 fantasy lineup for the ECN Czech Super Series T10 match to be played between Prague Barbarians Visigoths and United Cricket Club:
Their may be a stark difference between the two sides on the basis of experience and recent performances, a lot can change on-field in the shortest version of the game. Playing in the first match of the tournament, the players of both the sides are expected to be a bit nervous. Experience, therefore, is likely to play a key role and for that reason, Prague Barbarians Visigoths are better placed to emerge on top in the opening match of the tournament.
