Led initially by Wayne Parnell initially and then by Theunis de Bruyn, the Pretoria Capitals have been arguably the most consistent performer during the group stages and were the first to qualify for the knockout stages. They finished at the top of the points table with an impressive 31 points from 10 games.
They faced the Paarl Royals in the first semi-finals, where thanks to a superb half-century by Rilee Rossouw and some tight bowling by James Neesham, Anrich Nortje, and Adil Rashid, managed to defeat the opponents by 29 runs to sail through to the Finals.
The team will once again rely on Phil Salt and Kusal Mendis to give them a good start, as they have done on quite a few occasions in the past. Theunis de Bruyn and Rilee Rossouw have been pretty consistent in the middle order but more will be expected from Colin Ingram, which appears to be the only weak link in an otherwise strong batting line-up.
James Neesham has been a solid performer with the bat as well as the ball and has provided excellent support to Anrich Nortje and Eathan Bosch. Together, the trio has scalped 45 wickets, making this one of the most successful seam attacks. In the spin department, the Capitals will once again depend on Adil Rashid to deliver the goods.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape hasn’t been the most consistent in the group stages but did manage to finish in 3rd place thanks to a good NRR. However, the team showed strong intent in the semifinals as they defeated the Joburg Super Kings in a high-scoring encounter.
After being asked to bat first, Aiden Markram scored a scintillating century and stitched a couple of vital partnerships, first with Jordan Hermann and then with Tristan Stubbs to take his team to a mammoth 213-5 in 20 overs. With this century, Markram is the highest run-getter for the Sunrisers this season and he has also been excellent with the ball, picking up 10 wickets.
The other batsmen however have been a bit inconsistent. The national team captain, Temba Bavuma has struggled to score runs, and all-rounders JJ Smuts and Marco Jansen have played just a couple of good innings. More will be expected from the likes of Andy Rossington and Tristan Stubbs if the Sunrisers want to lift the trophy. Left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe has been the pick of the bowlers, picking up 16 wickets so far.
The seamers have bowled well too, with Sisanda Magala and Ottniel Baartman managing to pick up wickets at regular intervals.
