Three out of the five places in the BBL 09 finals have been locked up and only the final two places are left to be filled. There are still four teams in contention for those spots who are all trying their hardest to take this contest till the last match.
The Adelaide Strikers will be playing against the Perth Scorchers in this match. The Adelaide Strikers are assured of playing the final but they have a potential top-2 finish within grasp. The upside of finishing in the top-2 is immense as it allows the teams to get two shots of qualifying for the Grand Final.
Both the teams are coming into this match on the back of an impressive win and will be hoping to improve their fortunes further.
Perth Scorchers vs Adelaide Strikers BBL 09 is going to be played at the Perth Stadium, Perth on the 24th of January 2020.
The Perth Scorchers are going to be strengthened by the return of Ashton Turner and Ashton Agar into the side for this match. That will most likely mean that Cameron Green and Tim David get left out of the playing eleven.
The return of these two players will help boost the batting potential of the Perth Scorchers. Ashton Turner did not get an opportunity to play in India and would be very keen to try and get some runs under his belt.
Josh Inglis, Liam Livingstone, and Mitchell Marsh are already in very good form and will make Perth a formidable batting team. Kurtis Patterson, Cameron Bancroft, and Ashton Agar are all good with the bat and theoretically, that should mean a big score for the Perth Scorchers in most matches.
Some poor decision making from the batsmen in previous matches makes a bit wary, though, as the Perth Scorchers have shown an incredible ability to collapse under pressure.
Fawad Ahmed, Jhye Richardson, Matthew Kelly, Chris Jordan, and the all-rounders will form the bowling lineup. We have been disappointed at the lack of impact that Jhye Richardson has had in BBL 09 and think it is hurting the Perth Scorchers.
Mitchell Marsh may be tempted to bowl a few overs to ensure that he has options in case any one bowler has a bad day.
Liam Livingstone, Josh Inglis, Kurtis Patterson, Mitchell Marsh, AJ Turner, CT Bancroft, Ashton Agar, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Matthew Kelly, Fawad Ahmed.
The return of Travis Head to the Adelaide Strikers side has helped them become immensely stronger. The batting was a weak spot for the Adelaide Strikers and they seem to have addressed that pretty well now.
The middle-order of Head, Carey, Wells, and Short has been performing very nicely and gives the Adelaide Strikers some decent depth to work with. We don’t think Jake Weatherald and Phil Salt are the two best openers for this team but they both are dangerous enough to score runs on their days.
The real strength for the Adelaide Strikers has been their bowling.
Peter Siddle picked up four wickets in the previous match to continue his brilliant BBL 09 season. It is truly remarkable to see Siddle continue to be one of the best fast-bowlers in Australia even at this late stage in his career.
Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Billy Stanlake, and Wes Agar all make a very fine bowling attack.
Rashid Khan is going to be one of the biggest threats in this match as he too is having a season to remember with the Adelaide Strikers.
Philip Salt, Jake Weatherald, TM Head, Alex Carey, JW Wells, Matthew Short, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, WA Agar, Billy Stanlake.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

The weather in Perth is expected to be very good for cricket on match day. There is very little rain predicted and we should be able to get a full match in without any interruptions. The pitch at Perth Stadium has been very good for the batsmen. There is pace on offer and enough bounce to keep the bowlers interested as well.
The large playing area means that the spinners are always in the game. Rashid Khan for the Adelaide Strikers and Fawad Ahmed for the Perth Scorchers will have a large role to play in this match.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 prediction for Perth Scorchers vs Adelaide Strikers
The recent form for the Adelaide Strikers has been fantastic. They have won three out of their previous four matches while the Perth Scorchers have not been bad recently either. The return of Ashton Turner and Ashton Agar to the team makes the Perth Scorchers very strong.
We think they will enjoy playing in the home conditions and come away with a win in this match.
