Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat are about to play each other in a very important Big Bash match. The BBL League table is very close with just three points separating teams 2 to 7. Both the Scorchers and Heat are in the bottom half of the table but they have each played one match lesser than the other teams.
A win in this match could see the teams make a massive move up in the table standings.
Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Docklands Stadium, Melbourne on the 19th of January 2021.
The Perth Scorchers lost their previous match after a run of five consecutive victories. Interestingly, only one out of those victories came outside of Perth and so the next few matches could be in conditions that challenge the Scorchers more.
A powerful batting line-up gives the Perth Scorchers a chance in every match that it plays. Liam Livingstone, Jason Roy, and Colin Munro are all in pretty good touch and will be hoping to take the attack to the Brisbane Heat bowlers in this next match.
With Ashton Turner, Josh Inglis, and Mitchell Marsh likely to return, the Perth batting is formidable and stronger than Brisbane Heat.
Of course, we know that Brisbane has a very good batting lineup as well and so the role of the Scorchers bowlers is going to be very important.
Jhye Richardson may have had an off-day against the Sixers but he is a superb bowler and in good form. Aaron Hardie, Andrew Tye, and Jason Behrendorff form a very good bowling attack with Fawad Ahmed as the spinner.

Brisbane Heat is in excellent form as well after winning four out of its previous five matches. The team has found a nice balance after a shaky start and could rocket to the top half with a win in this match.
The success of the Brisbane Heat has coincided with a return to form for Chris Lynn and Joe Burns. Lynn is one of the best strikers of the ball against pace while Joe Burns has shown an excellent ability to start quickly and attack the spinners.
Lynn versus the Perth fast-bowlers is going to be very good to watch and possibly decide the outcome of the match!
Overall, though, Brisbane Heat has a lot of players that tend to throw away their starts. Max Bryant, Joe Denly, and Lewis Gregory all need to ensure that they are able to carry on after getting set.
Xavier Bartlett has been very good with the new ball and tends to pick up early wickets. Jack Wildermuth, Mark Steketee, and Morne Morkel form a very good bowling attack. We don’t think there is much of a difference in the quality of the bowling attacks in the two teams.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was Matthew Kuhnemann who rocked up in the previous match to end up with figures of 15 runs and one wicket from his four overs.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. This is the first match at the DOcklands Stadium but in general, it is a venue that favors teams batting first.

The Melbourne weather is expected to be very good and not be a problem, unlike that of the test match in Brisbane! The pitch at the DOckalnds Stadium is always a bit on the slower side and tends to help the spinners.
Teams batting first should be able to enjoy the best of the batting conditions and get to a total of around 160-170. That is the least that can be considered as par on this surface.
We think the Perth Scorchers have a better team and should be able to win this contest. There is not too much of a difference between the two teams and there are match winners on both sides but more power and depth in the batting attack should help the Scorchers get the edge.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers to win.
