Both the team playing this next match of Big Bash 2019-20 have started the tournament with a loss. The Perth Scorchers went down in a heavy defeat to the Sydney Sixers while the Melbourne Renegades went down to the Sydney Thunder in a close encounter.
Starting well is very important to stay in contention for the playoffs and the top teams are also going to have a massive advantage in being able to get to the BBL finals. Every single group game is important in BBL 09 and this is why both teams would love a win.
The action now shifts to Perth where we can expect some fire and brimstone from the pitch!
Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades BBL 2019-20 is going to be played at the Perth Stadium, Perth on the 21st of December 2019.
An extremely poor batting performance from the Perth Scorchers led to their downfall in the previous match. None of their big names were able to contribute in any significant manner to the scoreboard. Liam Livingstone, Cameron Bancroft, and Ashton Turner scored a total of two runs between them which left players like Mitchell marsh carrying out a repair job.
We believe that the last performance by the Perth Scorchers was a poor performance from an inherently strong side. The players will come back stronger in this match and put up a better performance.
The return to Perth Stadium is also going to help the batting lineup since there is going to be a lot more pace to work with.
Cameron Green also appeared to be a very dangerous batter down the order and could be one of the players to watch out for.
The bowling attack did not have much to defend but was torn apart by Josh Phillipe. Ashton Agar, Fawad Ahmed, and Jhye Richardson were all expensive and unable to pick up a single wicket. Chris Jordan picked up the only two wickets to fall while Matthew Kelly bowled with some pace as well.
Once again, the return to Perth Stadium should help the bowling unit put up a better performance for its side.
Josh Inglis, Liam Livingstone, CT Bancroft, Mitchell Marsh, AJ Turner, Cameron Green, Ashton Agar, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Fawad Ahmed, Joel Paris.
The Melbourne Renegades started their BBL campaign on a difficult pitch at Geelong. They batted pretty decently and got to a score of 169 but were unable to defend it. Sam harper played some very inventive shots upfront while Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh both got some runs.
The slowness of the wicket started to become a problem for their batsmen and we think that Perth is going to target them with some spinners as well. Sam Harper, Tom Cooper, and Daniel Christian all appear to be a bit uncertain against spin to start and so could struggle against Fawad Ahmed or Ashton Agar.
Overall, though, the batting is pretty deep and could be dangerous on its day.
The bowling for the Melbourne Renegades is going to be led by Kane Richardson. He has been absolutely brilliant for the Renegades over the years and was very good in the previous game as well. His four overs went for just 18 runs and even though he did not pick up a wicket, he ensured that the Sydney Thunder batsmen did not get away.
Harry Gurney is good at the death but Richard Gleeson looked a bit out of his depth. Dan Christian gave away 31 runs in his two overs which forced Jack Wildermuth to bowl. Cameron Boyce was also very expensive and gave away 43 runs in his four overs.
The bowling for the Melbourne Renegades appears to be a bit weak and that could be a problem for them in this match.
Sam Harper, Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, TLW Cooper, DT Christian, BJ Webster, JD Wildermuth, Cameron Boyce, KW Richardson, Richard Gleeson, Harry Gurney.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first.

The weather in Perth is forecast to be perfect for cricket. The pitch at the new Perth Stadium is pretty fast and always has some nice bounce in it. This can usually mean two things. The batting team can lose a bunch of wickets trying to get on top of the bounce or score freely and get a really big total.
The nature of the wicket does not change much and winning the toss is not too much of a disadvantage.

We are favoring the home team in this encounter. We think the Perth Scorchers are going to be very hard to stop in their own conditions. They have a strong batting side that will like the extra pace in the surface and it also has the bowling to challenge the Melbourne Renegades batting.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers to win.
