The upcoming Big Bash match is going to be a very interesting one. It pits two in-form teams against each other at an important stage in the tournament. The Sydney Sixers are at the top of the BBL League standings right now with five wins from seven matches. The Perth Scorchers started BBL 2020-21 slowly but are moving up the table with two wins in their previous two matches.
The Scorchers could break into the top-4 with a win in this game, and more importantly, keep their winning momentum going.
The talent in both the teams is undeniable and they were two of the pre-tournament favorites.
Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Perth Stadium, Perth on the 6th of January 2021.
It is a huge relief to see a star-studded team like the Perth Scorchers finally play to its potential. The two wins leading up this match would have done its confidence a world of good. There is nothing to say that it still cannot be one of the top finishers after the group stages.
The batting line-up has started to hit form but we still think that there is a lot more left in store. Liam Livingstone and Jason Roy have got starts but have yet to really fire and we think a big inning from each of them is around the corner.
With Josh Inglis, Colin Munro, Mitchell Marsh, and Ashton Turner in the side as well, there is no other team that comes close to the Perth Scorchers in terms of batting strength. We are backing at least one of these players to score heavily in this next match as well.
Jhye Richardson is hitting his stride with the ball and that immediately makes a huge difference to the bowling attack. Andrew Tye, Aaron Hardie, Jason Behrendorff, and Fawad Ahmed all compromise of a fantastic bowling attack.
The basics of this Perth Scorchers team are in place. They are now getting into some good form and we think they are really about to make a statement to the other teams.
Josh Inglis, Jason Roy, Colin Munro, AJ Turner, Aaron Hardie, Liam Livingstone, Mitchell Marsh, Jhye Richardson, Fawad Ahmed, Jason Behrendorff, AJ Tye.
The Sixers got back to winning ways against the Adelaide Strikers after a slip-up against Brisbane Heat. The team management has decided to abandon the strategy of picking as many all-rounders as possible and is looking to shore up its bowling attack.
This has meant that a match-winner like Jason Holder is sitting on the bench and the batting depth of the Sydney Sixers has been compromised.
We are not in favor of this approach especially since the bowlers that have been brought in have not been very successful. Jake Ball was terrible at the death in his previous match, while Jackson Bird was not too much better the match before that.
Jason Holder can bowl as well as any of these two and bat better.
Still, the Sydney Sixers batting is in very good touch led by Josh Philippe at the top of the order. He and Jack Edwards have been able to come up with some rapid starts although Edwards would want to get a few big scores to his name as well.
With James Vince, Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk, Daniel Christian, and Carlos Brathwaite, the Sydney Sixers are a formidable batting unit as well.
We just think that the Sydney Sixers need to avoid tinkering with their team when things are going well and to just let their players do the jobs they have done so well up until now.
Josh Philippe, Jack Edwards, James Vince, Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk, DT Christian, Carlos Brathwaite, Ben Dwarshuis, Steve O'Keefe, Jackson Bird, Jake Ball.
The team that wins the toss may want to field first. That is the general strategy in T20 cricket, especially when there is no change expected in the pitch over the course of 20 overs.

The Perth Stadium is going to offer up a fast and bouncy pitch that will provide exciting cricket. Not only are the batsmen able to strike the ball well and through the line but the bowlers are also able to get that extra bounce needed to try and make things uncomfortable.
A fair cricket pitch with a chance for everyone to make an impact. There is nothing more that you could want!
A score of around 170 seems to be par batting first.
We are going to stick with the home team in this match. The Perth Scorchers are just getting their act together and we believe they have a lot more success in store for them. They match the Sydney Sixers in batting depth, have more power, and a bowling attack that is very well suited to the bouncy conditions.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers to win.
