Perth Scorchers

The Perth Scorchers are running on all cylinders even without a couple of their best players missing. Jhye Richardson and Andrew Tye have been brilliant with the ball with excellent support from Jason Behrendorff, Aaron Hardie, and Peter Hatzglou. 

We think the extra bounce at the Perth Stadium will work in favor of the Scorchers since their fast bowlers will get a lot of assistance. Jhye Richardson could be a real handful. he is in good form and has been cranking up the pace to around 150 km/h. 

Josh Inglis and Ashton Turner are the two batters that have been doing most of the damage for the Perth Scorchers. Faf du Plessis has also batted really well at the top of the order and Cameron Bancroft got some runs under his belt as well. Adam Lyth has been the only player that has lacked form and is struggling. 

With momentum behind them, the Perth Scorchers seem like a tough team to stop. 

Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder may have been bowled out for 15 in BBL 12 but that is a distant memory. They scored 228 for 6 in the previous match they played and certainly seem to have sorted the batting out. Alex Hales, Oliver Davies, and Matthew Gilkes have been in terrific touch and are scoring runs with ease. 

We expected Hales to showcase his power game but he is actually being outgunned by Oliver Davies in that department! Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Ben Cutting, and Rilee Rossouw all make the Sydney Thunder batting a force to be reckoned with. 

The challenge for Sydney Thunder will be to match the Perth Scorchers in the bowling department. Brendan Doggett picked up four wickets in the previous match and Daniel Sams has been good with the ball but there are several instances of the Thunder bowling unit being quite poor as well. 

Chris Green is a shrewd T20 captain and will use his resources carefully but Thunder will have to be a bit lucky to escape serious punishment in this area.
