This is the final group match of WBBL 05 for the Perth Scorchers Women and the Hobart Hurricanes Women. It will be the second time these two teams play each other in the span of 24 hours. The Hobart Hurricanes pulled off an upset in the first match and managed to get a win to their name.
It is not going to make any difference in the larger scheme of things, though, as the Perth Scorchers are assured of a place in the WBBL semi-final and the Hobart Hurricanes have no chance of making it through.
The Hobart Hurricanes women will be keen to get another win under their belt and sign off on a high while the Perth Scorchers will want to get back to winning ways ahead of their knockout match.
Perth Scorchers Women vs Hobart Hurricanes Women WBBL 05 is going to be played at Lilac Hill Park, Perth on the 1st of December 2019.
The Perth Scorchers suffered a complete batting collapse against the Hobart Hurricanes and fell to an unexpected defeat. This is not the sort of performance that a team wants to put in before the knockout stages start.
We think there may have been some level of laxity in the approach of the Scorchers since they knew that a return match was on its way.
Meg Lanning, Amy Ellen Jones, and Natalie Sciver have been in good form for the Scorchers. The batting lineup also features Georgia Redmayne, Nicole Bolton, and Chloe Piparo to give it plenty of depth. The batters were embarrassed by a strong bowling lineup and would not have been pleased about it.
We expect to see a lot better performance from them in this match.
The Perth Scorchers have not had the best bowling unit in this edition of the WBBL. Nicole Bolton, Kim Garth, Natalie Sciver, and Heather Graham are some of the bowlers that have been a regular of this lineup. Their form has not been great and we think they are going to need some scoreboard pressure on their side to be more effective.
Meg Lanning, M Carmichael, Georgia Redmayne, Kath Hempenstall, Nicole Bolton, Chloe Piparo, Heather Graham, Jemma Barsby, Kim Garth, Taneale Peschel, S Betts.
A strong start to the WBBL 05 did not translate into anything lasting for the Hobart Hurricanes women. They now have the chance to end with a strong coupe of performances as well. They have A decent batting lineup which has underperformed expectations and an excellent bowing unit which has not had the support it always needed.
Belinda Vakrewa and Tayla Vlaeminck are the lead bowlers for the Hurricanes that also have Heather Knight, Maisy Gibson, and Nicola Carey in the lineup. This is a strong bowling attack and should be able to pile on the pressure for the second successive match on the Perth Scorchers.
If Vakrewa and Vlaeminck can prise out the top-3 of the Perth Scorchers then they are going to struggle to be able to put together a challenging score.
The batting for the Hobart Hurricanes has been quite disappointing. Heather Knight and Fran Wilson were supposed to be the steady, consistent players that the others could build around but that did not happen.
Erin Fazackerley provided the bulk of the runs in the previous match otherwise a small total could have ended up being very difficult to chase down.
The Hurricanes have to hope that another one of their batters is able to do the job in this last match.
Nicola Carey, Erin Fazackerley, Maisy Gibson, Corinne Hall, Heather Knight, Emma Manix-Geeves, Sasha Moloney, Chloe Tryon, Belinda Vakarewa, Tayla Vlaeminck, Fran Wilson.

The weather in Perth is expected to be excellent for the duration of the match and not be a concern at all. The pitch at Lilac Hill was a bit slow and is not going to change overnight. The batters may struggle a bit and a score of around 130 is going to be quite competitive.
We think the Perth Scorchers women are going to hit back in this match with a much-improved performance. They have the batting depth as well as the form on their side.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers women to win.
