The WBBL 2020 league table is mouth-watering right now with surprising names at the top and bottom. There is not too much difference between the teams either and so every result is going to have a definite impact.
This next match is going to be played between the Perth Scorchers and the Melbourne Renegades.
The Scorchers are in good form with two consecutive wins against the Sydney Sixers while the Melbourne Renegades are dead last with a solitary win this season so far. It is going to be very difficult for the Renegades to get something out of this season but it has one big scalp to its name this season already. Can it add another?
Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades WBBL 2020 is going to be played at the Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney on the 14th of November 2020.
Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney put together two match-winning performances in their most recent two matches. Devine scored a century and Mooney remained not-out on 75 as the Perth Scorchers start to find their feet in the WBBL.
We knew that Devine and Mooney are going to be match-winners for the Scorchers and now that the team has some momentum, they are going to be hard to stop. The trick is going to be to find some more players that can contribute.
There is plenty of talent in Nicole Bolton, Heather Graham, and Chloe Piparo but they have had a quiet WBBL so far.
The returns for Devine have not been as good with the ball as we know her to be. However, even without Devine at her best, the Scorchers have a decent bowling lineup. Nicole Bolton, Sarah Glenn, and Heather Graham have been quite decent with Taneale Peschel picking up regular wickets upfront too!
The current form of Scorchers and particularly of its best players makes it a difficult opponent to come across.
Beth Mooney, Megan Banting, Lauren Down, Chloe Piparo, Sophie Devine, Nicole Bolton, Heather Graham, Sarah Glenn, Taneale Peschel, Jemma Barsby, Piepa Cleary.
The high-point of the season for the Melbourne Renegades was when they managed to bring down a high-flying Sydney Thunder team. It has not been able to replicate that result in any of its other matches, though, and is struggling to make a mark.
We don’t think the Renegades are going to be confident of any of their disciplines going into this match.
The batting has been a big letdown for the Renegades this season. It was good to see them make some changes and send Carly Leeson to open and push down Lizelle Lee. While Leeson did not score any runs, Lee did and that is a big positive.
Leeson also has enough talent to get the backing from the team management for the next few matches.
Sophie Molineux, Amy Satterthwaite, and the rest have been too inconsistent this season.
Leeson has also added some teeth to the bowling. She, Molly Strano, and Sophie Molineux form a decent bowling attack that can test the Perth Scorchers. A few early wickets and the Renegades will fancy their chances of getting deep into the batting lineup quickly.
Lizelle Lee, Josie Dooley, Amy Satterthwaite, Courtney Webb, Sophie Molineux, Makinley Blows, Ella Hayward, Molly Strano, Rosemary Mair, Carly Leeson, Amy Yates.
We think the team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

The Sydney Showground has served up some good batting pitches so far and we expect the same for this next leg of matches over there. The pitch has remained consistent and not slowed up too much so that should continue now as well.
A score of around 140 is par.
There is nothing to suggest that the Melbourne Renegades are going to be able to pull off an upset. They have a poor batting lineup and an average bowling attack. The Scorchers have form and class on their side.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers to win.
