The WBBL is progressing nicely and the points table seems to be much closer this season than in previous years. Two teams that sit at the opposite ends of the table are going to be paying each other in this match. Sydney Thunder is currently at the top of the table with just one loss from its six games while the Perth Scorchers are second from the last with just two wins in five matches.
Things can change around very quickly, though, as most teams are separated by just a couple of matches. This is why no team is going to want to take it easy or get complacent.
Perth Scorchers Women vs Sydney Thunder Women WBBL 05 is going to be played at the Karen Rolton Oval, Adelaide, South Australia on the 10th of November 2019.
A tight win against the Adelaide Strikers would have given the Perth Scorchers a lot of confidence and they would be hoping to take down another top team in this match. The Perth Scorchers have suffered this season because they just have one or two batters contributing for them in the entire lineup.
Meg Lanning and Amy Ellen Jones are the two batters that have been scoring runs for them and they were the two that got them the win in the previous match as well.
A score of 80 from 58 balls for Amy Ellen Jones and 64 from 50 balls for Meg Lanning ensured that the Perth Scorchers got to a winning total. Senior players like Natalie Sciver, Nicole Bolton, and Heather Graham have not been able to get going in the WBBL this season and therefore the onus of scoring runs has fallen squarely on the opening pair.
We think this is about to change and that the Perth Scorchers batting is just coming into its own.
The bowling is led by Kim Garth, Nicole Bolton, Natalie Sciver, and Heather Graham. This is not the strongest of bowling attacks and is going to be under pressure against the strong Sydney Thunder bowling unit.

Sydney Thunder continues to move past its opponents with some excellent cricket and is easily one of the strongest teams of the tournament so far. A number of its batters have been scoring runs giving it a wider base from which to expect runs.
Rachel Priest, Naomi Stalenburg, Rachael Haynes, Alex Blackwell, and Phoebe Litchfield have all been in the runs. Nida Dar has not yet got too many opportunities to score runs but she is also a very dangerous batter in the lower-middle order.
Sydney Thunder matches the Perth Scorchers in terms of batting strength and has the better form on its side as well.
Perhaps equally important for the Sydney Thunder success have been its bowlers. Nida Dar, Hannah Darlington, Shabnim Ismail, and Samantha Bates all form apart of the strong bowling unit.
There is a lot of variety, skill, and experience to call upon.
There is no doubt that the Sydney Thunder bowling is also going to be tested against an in-form Perth Scorchers batting unit.

There is no rain predicted in Adelaide on match day and so we should have an uninterrupted match being played out. The pitch in Adelaide is expected to be good for batting so the strong batting lineups of both teams will have a good opportunity to put on a show.
A score of about 150 may be par for the surface.
We think that the Perth Scorchers are coming into this match hot and have a very good chance of winning. They will need to be at their best against a very strong Sydney Thunder side but the form of Meg Lanning makes us think this is a good chance to bet on the upset.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers women to win.
