Considering that stakes involved, a cracker of a contest is certainly on the cards.

PSV vs PUBV Team Previews

Prague Spartans Vanguards

Just like the Vandals, Prague Spartans Vanguards got off to a rather shaky start, but their experienced players did exceedingly well to pull things back as they eventually qualified for the Championship Weekend of the tournament. In the final of their group stage, Prague Spartans Vanguards thumped Prague CC Knights by a massive margin of 22 runs.

The Vanguards have a fantastic bowling attack, which features the likes of Prasanna Ganesan and Neeraj Tyagi. Neeraj Tyagi was phenomenal in the group-stage and numbers speak volumes about his performance. He picked up six wickets at an expense of 29 runs. He had a fantastic economy rate of 4.83, which is one of the best in the tournament so far. Alongside him, a lot will depend on Prasanna Ganesan and Satyajit Sengupta.

P Ganesan did extremely well with both bat and ball and is a vital cog in Vanguards' middle-order. He not only picked bowled with an impressive economy rate of 4.20 but also scored a total of 82 runs in four innings. Satyajit Sengupta could not impress with the bat but was fantastic with the ball. Picking up five wickets, he played a perfect second-fiddle to Neeraj Tyagi.

On paper, Prague Spartans Vanguards appear to be a pretty well-balanced unit. The team will be looking up to Kranthi Venkataswamy, who scored 46 runs in aggregate in the group stage to deal the damage with the bat. The presence of all-rounders adds depth to their batting lineup and that could prove to be a critical factor in crunch situations. While the Spartans look good, both on performance as well as on team combination, their players have struggled to perform consistently. They would need to get in the groove from the word go and if they can do that, they can give certainly give a run for their money to even the best teams in the competition.

Prague Spartans Vanguards Playing 11

Farooq Shaik, Neeraj Tyagi, Vyshakh Jagannivasan, Santhosh Bemmireddy, Prasannaa Ganesan, Ghanshyam Kumar, Suhaib Wani, Karthik Ekambaram, Kranthi Venkataswamy, Parth Bhalodiya, Satyajit Sengupta.

Prague Barbarians Vandals

Prague Barbarians did not have a flawless record in the group-stage, but impressed one and all with the way they bounced back to finish at the top. In one of their earlier matches, they failed to chase down Rooks' total of 91 despite a valiant fifty from Sabawoon Davizi. With Prague Spartans Mobilizers also doing well, Prague Barbarians Vandals needed to step up their game and they did it beautifully. They qualified for the final on the back of consecutive 100-plus scores and defeated Prague CC Rooks by a colossal margin of 26 runs after putting 122 runs on the board.

The Vandals are one of the better-balanced teams of the tournament and are rich in experience as well. The likes of Sabawoon Davizi and Honey Gori are regular memebers of Czech Republic's National Cricket team and they both played a vital role in Vandals' qualification to the championship round. Sabawoon Davizi scored 154 runs at an average of 38.50. He scored those runs at a phenomenal strike-rate of 169.23 and is contributed equally well with the ball too. He picked up six wickets for 57 runs at an economy rate of 8.14.

With the likes of Honey Gori, Divyendra Singh, Sagar Madhireddy, and Pradeep Gangappa, the Vandals' batting lineup is studded with nifty players. Almost all of their batsmen are capable of hitting big hits right from the word go and the hitting they did in the group-stage was an evidence of their abilities. While the Vandals look terrific with the bat, at least on paper, they do not have same prowess with the ball. They struggled to keep opponents to reasonable totals, but their batting did well to overshadow their bowling's weakness.

All in all, Prague Barbarians Vandals will always be a threat to other teams, largely due to their power-packed and deep batting unit. The likes of Honey Gori and Sabawoon Davizi can tear apart any bowling attack on their day and a much of Vandals' fate will depend on the performance of the Gori-Davizi pair. They have one of the strongest batting units of the competition and if their bowlers can complement their batting, Vandals will be the team to beat in this competition.

PSV vs PUBV Toss Prediction

It's a high-pressure encounter on a high-pressure day and the pressure of chasing could be immense. Although the surface is unlikely to change over the course of twenty overs, chasing a big total could be challenging. Therefore, winning the toss and batting first should be the way to go for both the captains.

Pitch and Conditions

Much to the fans' delight, rain did not hamper any play on the first day of the championship weekend. It is expected to be bright and sunny on Sunday and we should have absolutely no interruptions. The teams appeared to be better acquainted with the surface as we regularly saw the totals in the range of 90-100 runs being scored. The ground features short boundaries on top of a true surface and, therefore, run-scoring should not be a problem for a batsman once set. We expect the trend of high-scoring matches to continue and the team batting first should be looking to put a total of at least 90 runs on the board.
