About the Match
The next game of Chennai scheduled against Pune Warriors on 15th April promises to be a bit different event apart from being just another match of this year’s IPL. On one side where Chennai will be hoping to crush the weak looking Pune Warriors while on the other Warriors would be eyeing to upset the two times champion and set a mark in the league also sounding the alarm for rest of the teams. Also, another loss that the Pune Warriors were made to taste must have bundled their nerves and will be eager to play the game against the Super Kings like an all or nothing condition.
Chennai Super Kings:
Looking to be one of the most balanced side, considering both the batting and bowling line up and an ample amount of talent on bench, the Super Kings are showing again what they are capable of with so much of the talks about them. Chasing down a small total of 140 odd runs against Punjab was made to look so simple by the type of batting shown by Murali Vijay and Mr. Cricket tagged Mike Hussey who made sure the team wins dominatingly. Also the kind of bowling shown by the Kings has proved to be of some metal stuff against which no team is finding it easy to score freely. With Dhoni in the side, they can bounce back from any stage of the game well illustrated by last game they won against Royal Challengers.
Pune Warriors India
Though the Pune Warriors did win against the giants Rajasthan Royals, it was a win that came after a long span of showing the lack of stuff required in a team to be a lethal enemy. But still a team comprising of so much star players is all time able to bounce back heavily in any game which is a fact known to each and every team even including Chennai, who will not want to be complacent and make the mistake of taking the Warriors lightly.
So far in the competition, Pune hasn’t been able to impress anyone. Under the leadership of Angelo Mathews, the team has lacked consistency with both bat and ball. Chennai on the other hand has played well and been on the top more often than not. Their last game was a test of nerves which they passed well. The match between Pune and Chennai may appear to be a mismatch, but on paper both teams are almost equivalent. Pune hasn’t been in best of form and Chennai has performed reasonably well. I’d pick CSK to emerge on top once again in the clash between the two sides.
