We have a very interesting match to look forward in the PSL 2020 now. It is Peshawar Zalmi taking on the Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. Both these teams have had a rough start to the Pakistan Super League and currently right at the bottom of the table. No team has really managed to run away at the top of the table so far and that means there is a good chance both these teams can catch up if they hit form.
What they cannot afford is an extended slump or they risk being non-entities in PSL 2020.
Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars PSL 2020 is going to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on the 28th of February 2020.
We have spoken about the dependence of Peshawar Zalmi on the form of Kamran Akmal and we saw an example of that in the previous match. On a beautiful bating surface where the par surface seemed close to 180, Peshawar Zalmi could only manage 123 as its batting failed completely.
Tom Banton, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, and Liam Livingstone all failed to score any major runs and the others could not pick up the slack. Haider Ali scored 47 to show some class but that was the only positive from the entire experience.
Peshawar Zalmi has to find a way to get some of its other batsmen functioning properly as well.
Tom Banton and Shoaib malik must be feeling the heat but a lack of too many compelling options in the squad is going to ensure they don’t lose their places just yet.
The bowling unit could not have done much in the previous match with such a low score to defend but it still gave a tough fight. Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir Khan, and Rahat Ali all form a very good attack with backup from Liam Dawson and Darren Sammy.
If the batsmen get their act together then there is enough firepower in the bowling to make Peshawar Zalmi a very strong opponent.
Tom Banton, Kamran Akmal, Haider Ali, Mohammad Mohsin, Liam Livingstone, Lewis Gregory, Wahab Riaz, DJG Sammy, Hasan Ali, Aamir Khan, Rahat Ali.
Lahore Qalandars found a way to lose the previous match even though they dominated it form the most part. Mohammad Hafeez led from the front as he scored 98 not out and then picked up some early wickets as well.
If Fakhar Zaman and Chris Lynn can get into the groove of things as well then the Lahore Qalandars may start being more of a factor in this PSL.
The middle-order of Dane Vilas, Samit Patel, and David Wiese is an interesting one. Neither of these batsmen is going to play too many big match-winning innings but they are capable of providing some quick cameos as needed.
They could be very effective in close chases or applying the finishing touches when the top-order has already done its job. This is why the majority of the runs have to be scored by the top-3.
Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi were spectacular in the previous match. Shaheen Afridi picked up four wickets and could not have done anything more to try and win the match for his side. Usman Shinwari, though, is having a shocker of a season as he continues to make errors and give freebies.
The Lahore Qalandars must seriously think about switching him out for someone who offers them a bit more control in the middle.
Samit Patel is not the most effective spinner either and he is not going to be keeping too many Pakistani batsmen quiet. Another all-rounder or perhaps a batsman in his place might be something to consider as well.
F Zaman, Chris Lynn, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Akhtar, DJ Vilas, SR Patel, D Wiese, Salman Irshad, Shaheen Afridi, Dilbar Hussain, Maaz Khan.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first.

The weather forecast for Rawalpindi is quite good. We should not have any trouble getting a full game. The pitch at Rawalpindi was excellent for batting as almost 400 runs were scored here in the previous match.
We expect another batting beauty that will be full of runs and make life difficult for the bowlers.

We like the Lahore Qalandars in this contest. Lahore Qalandars seemed to be getting their act together in the previous game and could get the balance right in this contest. Peshawar Zalmi has been quite poor with the bat and could struggle against a strong bowling unit.
This could be the time to bank on the Lahore Qalandars getting their first win of PSL 2020.
Bet on the Lahore Qalandars to win.
