The Quetta Gladiators and the Karachi Kings will be playing their final PSL 2020 group match against each other. It is also the final group match to be played after which we will move on to the semis. As things stand, the Karachi Kings have qualified for the semi-finals along with the Multan Sultans.
The Quetta Gladiators can also join them provided a couple of things happen. The first is a win for the Quetta Gladiators against the Karachi Kings and the other is a loss for the Lahore Qalandars against the Multan Sultans.
If either of those things does not happen, then the Quetta Gladiators will not qualify for the PSL 20920 semi-finals. Since the Lahore Qalandars are going to play in the morning before the Quetta Gladiators, we will know whether they have something to play for against the Karachi Kings or whether it is just going to be a dead rubber.
Quetta Gladiators vs Karachi Kings PSL 2020 is going to be played at the National Stadium, Karachi on the 15th of March 2020.
A rained-out match the last time around left the Quetta Gladiators in a very tough position to try and qualify for the semi-finals. They don’t hold their fate in their own hands and must hope for the Multan Sultans to do them a favor.
A complete batting failure in the match against the Lahore Qalandars is the last memory that the Quetta Gladiators have in PSL 2020. It was a horror performance and one that is not going to be helped by the loss of some senior players.
Jason Roy has returned to England and is not going to be a part of PSL 2020 anymore but there is no current news about Shane Watson. It is not clear if he has stayed back and is going to be available for this upcoming match.
Watson becomes very important in Roy’s absence as do the senior local Pakistani players like Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ahmed Shehzad, and Azam Khan. Ben Cutting has also been brilliant with the bat and could be asked to play a big role in this match.
The bowling remains pretty undisturbed since Tymal Mills was not a regular member of the playing eleven anyways. Mohammad Hasnain, Ben Cutting, Sohail Khan, Mohammed Nawaz, and Fawad Ahmed are likely to be the bowlers in the playing eleven for this match.
Sarfraz Ahmed, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Nawaz, SR Watson, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammad Hasnain, Ben Cutting, Azam Khan, Naseem Shah, Fawad Ahmed, Sohail Khan.
A fantastic performance from the Karachi Kings has ensured their place in the semi-final for PSL 2020. Mohammad Amir, Chris Jordan, Imad Wasim, and Iftikhar Ahmed all bowled very tightly to prevent Islamabad United from getting to a big total.
That was the kind of bowling that they will need in this upcoming match as well. The fact that Chris Jordan has decided to stay back even when most of his other English teammates have left is something that the Karachi Kings will be very happy with.
The Karachi Kings are going to be without Alex Hales for the remaining matches and that is something that is going to be a big blow. Hales was in excellent form leading up to this stage and could have been the difference in close situations.
Thankfully, Sharjeel Khan has found his touch at just the right time and is making a real statement to the selectors. He smashed four sixes in his seventeen ball stay and ensured that the Karachi Kings were never in any doubt of chasing down their target.
Babar Azam is the best T20 batsman in the world and will be very important in the next match as well.
Cameron Delport, Imad Wasim, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Chadwick Walton give the Karachi Kings a very decent amount of depth as well, even without Alex Hales in the side.
Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, C Delport, CAK Walton, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Ali Khan, Umer Khan, Usama Mir, W Maqsood, Arshad Iqbal.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first to have a clear idea of the target in front of it.

There is no chance of rain that has been forecast in Karachi on match day. We should not have any weather-related interruptions in the next match either. The pitch at the National Stadium has been good for batting but it is now significantly slower than at the start of PSL 5.
Interestingly, the pitch does not seem to change much over the course of the twenty overs and so winning the toss is not a very big advantage.
A score of around 150-160 is going to be pretty touch to chase down at this venue.
We are going to back the in-form Karachi Kings in this match as well. They have a better batting lineup, a far superior bowling attack, and absolutely nothing to lose in this match. They can play with freedom and express themselves.
Bet on the Karachi Kings to win.
