QSL vs SAC Team Previews

Queensland

Queensland will be hoping that its strong batting is able to get it over the line once more. The likes of Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Matt Renshaw, Joe Burns, and Jimmy Pierson provide it with perhaps the most depth out of any of the teams this season.

We actually think Queensland has been quite conservative in the way it has approached its batting this season. It has the resources to be able to go much harder and end up just batting the opposition out of the contest.

The bowling is very well stocked as well with Michael Neser, Billy Stanlake, and Jack Wildermuth leading the attack.

A strong team playing in home conditions and currently in form. What more would you want?

Queensland Playing 11

Usman Khawaja, Sam Heazlett, Marnus Labuschagne, Joe Burns, Matt Renshaw, Jimmy Peirson, Jack Wildermuth, Michael Neser, Xavier Bartlett, Matt Kuhnemann, Billy Stanlake.

South Australia Redbacks

South Australia has been woeful this season and that is largely down to the form of its leading batsmen. Jake Weatherald, Alex Carey, and Travis Head should have been able to win at least one match for their team. These are players that are either in the Australian team or thereabouts and you can expect a bit more consistency than what they have shown so far.

With Harry Nielson, Jake Lehmann, and Callum Ferguson also in the team, there is enough batting to mount a serious challenge.

The bowling is a lot more troublesome, though. Wes Agar and Daniel Worrall are the leading fast-bowlers while Peter Hatzglou is the spinner South Australia banking on. From what we have seen so far, Hatzglou has not had the same success in 50 over cricket as he did in the Big Bash.

South Australia needs its batsmen to stand up and deliver if it is to make a fight of this.

Harry Nielsen, Jake Weatherald, TM Head, Alex Carey, Callum Ferguson, Jake Lehmann, Sam Kerber, Corey Kelly, Spencer Johnson, Daniel Worrall, Wes Agar.

Pitch and Conditions

The weather forecast for the match is excellent and we should not have any trouble getting a full match in. The pitch is expected to be flat with a decent amount of bounce and pace in it to aid run-scoring.

We could have a relatively high-scoring match to look forward to. A score of around 280 should be seen as par.
